Location: home-based in EMEA region (Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, UK).

We are looking for a Regional Chemicals Category Manager to join our European Specialties Procurement team, the candidate will be responsible for negotiating and managing regional and global direct chemical spend in excess of $80 milion.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage $80MM+ in global and regional direct spend for Solenis chemical purchases.

  • Develop and implement a sourcing strategy in partnership with our global team to achieve cost savings and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate closely with the R&D organization and manufacturing operations to coordinate portfolio changes either for savings or innovation.

  • Identify and implement cost savings projects which meet or exceed company objectives while ensuring reliable support.
  • Support cross-functional and multi-regional teams working on new product development and launch planning for chemical innovation projects.
  • Manage on-going supplier performance to meet or exceed all metrics regarding service, performance, quality, cost and sustainability in collaboration with Supply Chain.
  • Provide support to manufacturing locations on matters related to material shortages, quality issues, savings projects, network analysis and new product introduction.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree – Chemistry or Sciences, Master’s degree in Business or Sciences is a plus. Certified Purchasing Manager certificate is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in procurement, Supply Chain and/or Product Management position.
  • Experience with strategic sourcing methodologies, structured contract negotiations and supplier performance management.

  • A strong knowledge of chemistry and chemical market background is preferred.

  • Effective time management skills in order to facilitate multiple priorities and firm deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, financial analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Experience and working knowledge of SAP.
  • Proficient English writing and communication skills required.
  • Must be able to lead projects and teams effectively and drive for outstanding results.
  • Remote working in Europe.
