The Regional Business Development Manager, East Coast at Hempel is key to identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, particularly within customers and multinational projects that may otherwise be overlooked due to specifications or lack of project knowledge. This role focuses on prospecting new sales, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of revenue and profit targets for regional key accounts, driving business growth in the region.

  • Secure inclusion of Hempel in corporate and project-specific specifications of major clients.
  • Engage with OEMs, key decision-makers, and their sub-suppliers to unlock large-scale, multi-national opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key regional accounts, acting as the primary contact and negotiator.
  • Drive sales growth and increase product volume for Hempel.
  • Drive business growth by increasing customer value, profitability, and share of wallet.
  • Support CRM system development and implementation within the assigned region or segment.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive long-term, profitable growth.
  • Be part of a global team and collaborate with global counterparts and cross-functional teams (sales, technical service, R&D, legal, finance, and supply chain).
  • Lead account teams to deliver tailored solutions and the best possible customer experience.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong commercial acumen is essential; an engineering background is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of success in sales, with in-depth knowledge of key account management principles and practices.
  • Experience in the engineering or fabrication industries is preferred and will be considered a strong asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sales role, preferably involving complex or technical products ideally in or around port cranes.
  • Skilled in sales management and business development and strong interpersonal, influencing, and negotiating skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems or equivalent platforms.
  • Must reside in the Eastern U.S. to support business operations, client needs, and prospect engagement in the region.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Available to travel as required to support business needs.
