Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Reconciliation Manager will report to the Sr. Director, Distributions, Reporting & Recon in the R&C Operations Department. This role is responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and assisting with the daily workload of the Tax and Reconciliation teams. The primary goal of this position is to provide leadership, training, and guidance so that all responsibilities performed by these teams are accurate and timely while meeting our established service levels.• Coordinate all aspects of the Company's tax reporting for accounts and relationships, including but not limited to 1099B, 1099INT, 1099DIV, 5498, 1099R, 1042S• Analyze the tax format files for accuracy and work with our vendor and internal Technology group to make necessary adjustments• Prepare and file 945 and 945A, 1042, 1099Misc• Review and approve the State Tax Withholding Returns, 5500-EZ Forms and corrected tax return filing• Research and respond to IRS notices and understand tax reporting requirements for new business lines, accounts, and activity• Provide client service to our external relationships that are using our tax services and maintain relationships with external vendors• Coordinate the production and retention of client tax form statements through our outside vendor relationships and internal Technology group• Review and approve daily reconciling reports and process quarterly reporting for applicable banks (Barclays and BMW banks)• Prepare various reports for Operations to research such as outstanding transactions, net overdrafts, and outstanding cases• Delegate, monitor, and complete Salesforce cases for stop payment, prepaid card stop payment, cleared check copies and miscellaneous outstanding check requests• Provide data and information for management to assist with business and policy decisions which includes preparing team statistics, reporting and enhancement updates• Build and develop positive relationships with cross functional leaders in Operations, Client Services and Sales while supporting these departments by providing active communication, training, assistance, and problem resolution• Provide leadership, guidance and direction to team members including but not limited to developing new processes and resolving complex issues • Provide constant innovation by designing, testing, and implementing new processes and workflows driven by automation to maximize efficiency, accuracy and control while optimizing resources• Assist in the testing of enhancements to the trust accounting system in relation to the tax and reconciliation processes • Establish and maintain documentation associated with all policies, procedures, and activities• Keep the Senior Director, Reporting & Reconciliation apprised of escalated client issues, processing errors or performance issues • Provide data and information for management to assist with business and policy decisions which includes preparing team statistics, reporting and enhancement updates• Other duties as assigned.
Typical schedule for this position is Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. CT to 5 p.m. CT.

Years of Experience: • 7-10 years of experience • 1-3 years of leadership experience
. Degree: • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field . Certification: N/A . Skills & Abilities: • Previous experience in tax reporting for Individual Retirement Accounts and Taxable Custodial Accounts• Basic knowledge of Investments and Securities including the tax treatment of transactions related to the securities• Familiarity with the IRS FIRE file formats and filing system preferred• Clear ability to lead, train, delegate to and motivate staff• Team player • Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable• Ability to adapt, maintain a positive attitude and support management through changes to business process, company policies, systems, and technology • Strong ability to problem solve both internally with staff and externally with clients• Ability to work independently to accomplish assigned tasks on a daily basis• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills• Plan and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines • Able to work in a fast-paced environment• Strong computer aptitude with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel• Ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly • Comprehensive understanding of IRA rules and regulations related to distribution transaction processing preferred• Working knowledge of trust accounting systems preferred• Previous experience with IRAs, Solo 401(k) plans and other various Qualified Retirement Plans preferred• Knowledge of IRS rules and regulations in relation to both IRAs and Qualified Retirement Plans preferred• Experience with SharePoint applications and/or Salesforce CRM preferred
