Summary
As an R&D Process technologist you will Identify, initiate, and deliver advantaged Processing Engineering expertise & solutions supporting Open Innovation and Value Creation across savings, yield, quality, food safety, efficiency enhancements
Key responsibilities
- Identify, initiate, and deliver advantaged Processing Engineering expertise & solutions supporting Open Innovation and Value Creation across savings, yield, quality, food safety, efficiency enhancements.
- Support in initial CAPEX scoping and support in CAPEX commissioning.
- Support in Continuous Improvement Projects related initiatives that require R&D Process Technical Support. Ability to pull data and assess trends in relation to process and food.
- Create a pipeline of Process Engineering enabled Value Creation opportunities aligned to Company and Cluster strategies.
- Provide Process Engineering technical support to the broader cross-functional Teams in pursuit of Value Creation across yield, quality, food safety, efficiency enhancements and Innovation.
- Establish strong working relationship/technical exchange with KHC International Process Engineering Group and External Partners to leverage and locally deploy advantaged Process Engineering solutions.
- Demonstrate Project Management best practice to deliver projects with executional excellence, inclusive defining clear project and business objectives, undertaking robust technical feasibilities, timeline development and adherence, Project Now/Stage & Gate and R&D Ways of Working compliance.
- Perform assigned tasks in accordance with all Heinz Food Safety, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Ethical and Human Resources policies, programs, and goals.
- Initiate and lead Process Engineering enabled Value Creation, R&D Driven ESG and Technology Projects.
- Provide Process Engineering guidance to cross-functional Stakeholders and Value Creation R&D team.
- Value Creation & Open Innovation Execution
- Process Engineering Networking within KHC, External Suppliers and 3rd Party Research Institutes.
- Support the selection, optimisation, validation and commissioning of new and existing Processes and Processing equipment.
About you
- 1-3 years Experience in a Research and Development role in the Food industry.
- Familiarity with and ability to work within manufacturing and Pilot Plant environment.
- Process improvement and process development experience/expertise within Food Manufacturing / food product development Industry.
- Productivity / Value Creation track record.
- Understanding of key Food manufacturing process steps - Ingredient Preparation, Blending, Thermal Processing & Packaging.
- Project Management experience
- Computer skills including Excel, Word, Project Management tools, PowerPoint and key board skills.
- Business production systems including Agile, BPCS and SAP
- Understanding of the FSANZ Food Standards code and food labelling requirements.
- Understanding of interactions between ingredients, additives, recipes, processes and packaging types.
- Understanding and high level of competence in all elements of the product development cycle including consumer insight interpretation, ideation to concept development, technical feasibility, factory implementation and product launch.
- Good project management, planning and organisation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
