Job Description
The Production Scheduler is responsible for coordinating manufacturing shop orders to ensure efficient production flow, meeting both internal financial objectives and customer delivery deadlines. This role involves creating and maintaining daily and weekly production schedules, collaborating with various departments to adjust plans based on resource availability, and optimizing operational efficiency.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Develop and manage daily and weekly production schedules for assigned product lines.
- Coordinator scheduling in conjunction with production to meet customer requirements
- Prioritize daily scheduling of critical skus and other high-priority components to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Acknowledge demand supplied by Supply planning, creating shop orders and production requirements based on existing inventory.
- Collaborate with FSQ team to address any production delays due to quality issues.
- Work closely with inventory to ensure on-time material availability for scheduled production.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and troubleshoot bottlenecks to minimize disruption in production
- Support Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline scheduling processes.
- Communicate regularly with purchasing, inventory and production teams to adjust schedules based on material supply and workforce capability.
- Ensure scheduling decisions align with company financial goals and customer commitments
- Maintain accurate records of production schedules and adjustments
- Work with minimal supervision while taking responsibility of operation efficiencies
Expected Experience & Required Skills
- Proven experience in production scheduling in a manufacturing or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
- Ability to communicate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in scheduling software, BPCs systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational skill and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and make data-driven scheduling decisions.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and production workflow optimization is a plus.
Work Environment & Schedule
This position is considered a Normal office environment with limited travel or visits to external locations; offices are open workspaces Additionally, this role requires Monday to Friday.
