We are seeking a Fund Services Quality Manager to oversee the accuracy and compliance of work prepared by our Fund Services team. This team manages the financial control and regulatory reporting for superannuation funds and investment schemes.
Coming from a tax background, you will be familiar with the Australian Tax landscape, particularly within superannuation and IDPS schemes. You will ensure all documentation meets legal and regulatory requirements, including APRA reporting, product disclosure documents, and service contracts. You will also review and approve financial work while collaborating with the Head of Fund Services to drive continuous improvement and address knowledge or process gaps.
As a key leader, you will provide guidance, training, and support to maintain quality and consistency across clients. You will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, tax agents, and auditors, while overseeing the successful implementation of regulatory and financial changes. This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in strengthening processes and controls within a dynamic financial environment.
The responsibilities will include:

Monitor and prepare for future changes in tax legislation associated with superannuation and IDPS schemes.

Oversee the quality management of client financial statements and tax returns.

Ensure the efficient and accurate completion of key business deliverables, including month-end closure, compliance requirements, and statutory obligations.

Partner to monitor adherence of Australian Accounting Standards and Prudential Regulations in relation to financial product reporting.

Continuously assess and enhance processes, procedures, and documentation practices for all key tasks.

Review and update local level policies for the Fund Accounting team.

Liaise with auditors and trustees on fund accounting and tax related matters when required.

Seek advice from internal and external tax specialists when specialist tax advice is required.

Ensure the accurate reconciliation of tax-related transactions and provide support to the tax team for reporting as needed.

Offer guidance and assistance to the reconciliations team to ensure all tax transactions are properly matched.
What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate?
Essential Skills and Experience:

CA or CPA qualification.

7 years’ experience as a tax accountant, preferably in financial services.

Proven expertise in preparing statutory financial reports.

Strong knowledge of tax in superannuation and wealth management in Australia.
Desirable Technical Experience:

Knowledge of financial products and securities.

Experience with superannuation wrap funds and successor fund transfers.

Exposure to Superannuation Fund Accounting processes, reporting, and APRA returns.
