Job Description
Overview:
Plans, coordinates, and directs control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. Conducts audits of production facilities to ensure company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved. Consults with management/supervisors and leads to resolve quality, production, efficiency, and utilization problems.
Here's what you'll do:
- Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product
- Formulates and maintains quality control objectives complementary to company policies and goals
- Creates and implements inspection criteria and procedures
- Interprets and quality control procedures and policies to personnel
- Coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other management staff to maximize product reliability and minimize costs
- Provide inspection activity for product
- Involved in resolving quality issues within packing facility from post-harvest to packaging
- Educate and instruct plant personnel in recommended fruit quality tolerance and quality defects
- Supervise workers engaged in inspection criteria and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Here's what you'll bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 3 years’ experience in a food processing environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Computer literate
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as statistical means, averages, cycle times, inventory turnovers, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must be able to troubleshoot equipment/process problems and propose solutions. Problem-solving skills are essential to this position.
Pay Range: $70,000 - $80,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience
