JOB DESCRIPTION:
Oversee product and process quality, ensure expected quality levels are attained in the assigned products through fulfillment of workmanship standards and quality-program requirements. Identify and report quality problems or trends in the assigned area or product based on data from a variety of sources. Recommend or implement the appropriate corrective action to quality problems in the assigned area, with the aid of engineering, purchasing, etc. Review all documentation related to product quality in the assigned area, such as test procedures and operation sheets, and approving as appropriate to ensure product quality. Generate or implement defect-reduction activities. Responsible for assigned control plans, ensuring that all special characteristics are identified on the control plan. Define, develop, and maintain whether the incoming inspection is required on incoming materials. Create and maintain incoming inspection work instructions. Evaluate nonconforming material and initiating supplier containment and corrective actions. Document quality issues and trends/establishing prioritized improvement plans. Notifying management of nonconforming product. Responsible for supplier quality on assigned suppliers. Create/approve quality standards and boundary samples. Ensuring that process changes meet customer requirements. Update quality documentation and completing required documentation for customer approval. Identify/maintain appearance master samples. Select appropriate process controls, defining requirements for data collection, analysis, and corrective action. Responsible for applicable TS-16949 and BOS standards. Being able to evaluate and verify color. Receive and approve all PPAP submissions from Vendors. Monitor corrective actions and problem solving from Vendors, including containment activities. Issue SMRR request, 4D, and 8D. Monitoring corrective actions from the supplier using PCAD and issuing lists. Reporting on the status of all 8D reports from Vendors. Ensure defect-free deliveries of purchased parts to production. Manage the quarantine area for non-conforming parts/products. Identify and utilize appropriate statistical tools and mentors and trains team members in the use of statistical applications and techniques.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Engineering or a related field. 2 years of experience as a quality engineer or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Basic core tool (MSA, PFMEA, CP, etc.); (2) GD&T and CAD interpretation; (3) Launch and development of new projects; (4) OEM Customer relationship and problem-solving skills; and (5) Metal welding processes.
RATE OF PAY: $71,968.00 per year
