You will join a team developing state-of-the-art general-purpose robots designed to operate in human spaces and with human tools. It is designed to work alongside humans, mobilize to human spaces, and manipulate the world around it.

We are seeking a skilled Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team and ensure the highest standards of quality in our software development processes.  As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Apptronik, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and executing comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the reliability, performance, and usability of our software products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to establish quality standards, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous process enhancements throughout the software development lifecycle.  You will be responsible for both Automated testing and manual testing of software products across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement QA processes, standards, and methodologies to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to identify, prioritize, and resolve quality-related issues throughout the development cycle.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of defects and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve overall product quality.
  • Establish and maintain automated testing frameworks and tools to streamline testing efforts and increase efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze test results, metrics, and KPIs to assess product quality and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience, preferred
  • Proven experience in software quality assurance, with at least 3 of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools and proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to evolving requirements.

Nice to Have

  • Experience testing and shipping consumer products at scale
  • Experience in managing a regular release process with frequent (bi-weekly, monthly) update cadences
  • Experience with robotics software testing and familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System).
  • Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools (e.g., Bitbucket Pipelines, Docker, etc).
  • Knowledge of BitBucket, Jira, Testrail, JFrog, and Linux
  • Certification in quality assurance or software testing (e.g., ISTQB, ASQ).
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
