JOB DESCRIPTION:
Maintain a good Vendor relationship by consistently exceeding customer expectations, through proper product development and supply in a world-class condition. All vendor concerns, nonconformance, and issues shall be documented, and brought to resolution. Receives and approves all PPAP submissions from Vendors. Monitor Corrective Actions and problem solving from Vendors, including containment activities. Monitor all incoming products for quality, implement incoming inspection where appropriate and maintain a list of each supplier and the parts/materials supplied to the plant. Maintain supplier performance metrics. Create Supplier Material Rejection Reports for all Vendor returns. Provide technical and engineering support; conducts supplier audits as required. Issue SMRR request, 4D and 8D. Monitor corrective actions from supplier using PCAD and issue list. Report on status of all. 8D reports from Vendors. Provide technical and engineering support; conduct supplier audits as required. Assure defect-free deliveries of purchased part to production. Manage quarantine area for non-conforming parts/products. Identify and utilize appropriate statistical tools and mentor and train team members in use of the statistical applications and techniques. Ensure the protection of the environment, prevention of pollution and the continual improvement of the Environmental Management System. Provide leadership in developing measures and practices that prevent accident and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA/TCEQ standards. Continuously monitor the workplace for hazardous environmental, health, and safety conditions. Ensure environmental, health and safety hazards are corrected, eliminated or guarded. Assess engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE on an on-going basis. Assist in the investigation of accidents. Identify hazardous situations that are associated with the accident. Stop and prevent unsafe actions; stop the use of unsafe equipment and tools, stop work and/or have employees leave a work area. Investigate all near misses and other environmental/ safety-related incidents that have occurred within the incident area. Ensure the results of environmental/safety audits are documented; monitoring the investigation of accidents and injuries; ensuring that corrective actions are taken; and providing recommendations for ways to prevent similar accidents. Ensure that all incident reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Will supervise Engineering Technologists and Technicians. No Telecommuting Allowed.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience as a Quality Analyst, QA Engineer, or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Problem solving tools (8D, A3, 5 Why’s, Ishikawa Diagram, etc.); (2) Automotive core tool knowledge (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC); (3) Basic GD&T interpretation, ILD measurements; (4) Foam molding experience; and (5) Manufacturing and assembly knowledge.
RATE OF PAY: $ 71,968.00 per year
