As a Senior Quality Engineer within PPG Aerospace, you will resolve customer issues by leading a cross-functional technical team to determine containment, root cause and corrective actions. You will determine gaps in process activities or product design to improve product performance. This is an onsite position at our Sylmar, CA. facility. You will report to the Site Quality Manager.
Key Responsibilities

Evaluate results and trends of product performance to customer standards

Produce and maintain quality KPIs to drive product and process improvements

Work with MSS customers to understand the customer’s complaints and provide regular status updates.

Promote team to achieve quality goals, customer complaint cycle time targets and deliver high quality 8D reports

Further high quality into product design, manufacturing and sustaining using best practices such as Lessons Learned, Risk Assessment, DOE, DFT, DFM, etc.

Support customer audits to evaluate the effectiveness of the quality management system

Support Design Owners, Subject Matter Experts, and Process Improvement experts in driving process improvements to meet customer requirements

Develop and improve processes using LEAN/Six Sigma principles

Follow-up progress of Customer Quality Notifications from creation to closure
Qualifications
-
US Person
-
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
-
8+ years of applicable experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of experience
-
Ample experience with root cause and corrective action (RCCA)
-
Lean Six Sigma experience
-
Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Salary Range $125,000-$135,000 plus annual bonus
