Overview:
The Quality Engineer ensures adequate quality of all products, including purchased products, through the review of customer specifications during and after quote stage, the development and maintenance of component plans, quality plans, procedures and specifications, performance of internal audits and the investigation and correction of causes for nonconformances.
The preferred candidate will have experience with classification society and maritime regulations, rotating equipment (compressors, turbines, pumps) and cryogenic equipment.
Responsibilities:

Quality Engineers are responsible for producing moderately complex solutions for assigned tasks and projects.

Developing expertise in quality engineering skills, such as ITP creation, auditing and continuous improvement.

Participate in internal project transfer, customer kick-off, coordination, and pre-inspection meetings.

Provide Quality Assurance support to internal customers, including Project Management, Engineering, Drafting, Manufacturing, and Purchasing.

Provide project Quality Assurance support to external customers.

Taking responsibility for completion of assigned tasks, involving the cooperative efforts of others.

Facilitates customer witness of testing and inspections activities.

Conducts quality audits / continuous improvement projects.

Interact with others using basic courtesy and a straightforward exchange of information. Clear and comprehensive communications skills are important.

Develop knowledge of all Elliott products and processes, including Quality Assurance related inputs and outputs.
Qualifications:
-
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Process, or similar discipline).

Minimum of 2 years of related work experience.

Beginning knowledge of manufacturing processes, inspection methods and procedures, inspection equipment, nondestructive testing techniques and quality engineering including analytical skills.

Working knowledge of quality engineering principles.

Knowledge of operational processes in defined area of work and familiarity with industry practice and standards.

Working towards and gaining work experience for at least one Quality Certification such as American Society for Quality (ASQ) CQE, CQA, CQT, CQM, CRE, Six Sigma Black Belt.
