JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Control Manager oversees the laboratory workflow, maintains efficiency in the manufacturing operation, trains other chemists, and serves as a backup for testing and approving bulk raw materials and finished batches of products.
The Quality Control Manager will adhere to quality specifications, compliance safety, regulatory, environmental rules, and regulations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Managers the Sharonville quality laboratories and staff
-
Manages all quality laboratory reagents, supplies, and equipment purchasing and inventory
-
Manages absences with staffing coverage for Paid-Time-Off (PTO)/Leave of Absence (LOA) in Sharonville and the Cincinnati region

Executes the line audit process
-
Resolves systemic issues as a result of line audits
-
Completes Quality Deviation Reports (QDR) for the Sharonville Plant
-
Oversees the product return disposition process
-
Consults Research & Development (R&D) regarding unsuccessful batch adjustments and rejected batch disposition
-
Ensures completion of Production Inventory Template Form (PIT) and Bill of Materials (BOM) revision quality activities for the Sharonville Plant
-
Employs safe work habits and complies with all applicable safety requirements.

Provide daily production support including testing, adjusting and disposition of raw materials, products, and packaging.

Works closely with R&D, plant management, production teams and EHS to ensure overall quality and safety of products produced and distributed by the plant

Audits, guides, and advises operators in the analysis, adjustments, manufacturing, and packaging of products

Provide technical support with regards to waste minimization, environmental compliance, and timely disposition of returns, discrepant product, and materials.

Utilize SPC methods in data collection, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive action effectiveness and cost saving/avoidance analysis

Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, service, and productivity

Set annual performance goals and conduct annual reviews for all direct reports

Maintain a strong, constant focus on workplace safety to establish a culture that requires safe work behaviors by everyone present at our facilities.

Prioritizing daily tasks

Responding to daily employee relations issues, and contributing to the resolution of associate concerns, to help promote a harmonious work environment

Maintaining good housekeeping processes

Fostering a positive work environment

Support production growth efforts in a dynamic manufacturing environment

Any other responsibilities delegated by the Director of Quality.

QUALIFICATIONS
-
3-5 years Management and/or Supervisory experience
-
5-10 years operations experience in a manufacturing environment
-
Ability to own the leadership role and function in all quality matters
-
Proven experience where a high level of accuracy is non-negotiable

Strong attention to detail
-
Experience working independently and, in a group,/team setting
-
Able to prioritize and organize the daily workload to meet deadlines
-
Experience testing chemical products and samples
-
Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement efforts and corrective actions
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Ability to communicate well with plant employees, vendors, customers, and senior leaders.

Proficient with business software platforms
-
Ability to analyze data and prepare presentations and communications
-
Working knowledge of ISO, OSHA, and EPA regulations
-
Experience with warehouse management software
-
Proficient in Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics [D365]

A professional and positive attitude

Able to lift 25 lbs.

EDUCATION REQUREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree required
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
Management or Leadership Training preferred

Frequent exposure to wet and humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat (non-weather) and loud noise levels.
7-10 Direct Reports. This position can work various hours.
