POSITION SUMMARY:

The Public Relations Specialist works with Transwestern experts and market leaders to craft newsworthy narratives, write press materials, and coordinate media outreach for both local and national deliverables. This role is also responsible for executing multi-channel content strategies that support the goals of regional services lines and Transwestern clients, including internal communications, award nominations and social media content. The Public Relations Specialist will operate in an agile manner and respond quickly to changing market conditions and business direction.

It is the responsibility of the Public Relations Specialist to exhibit legendary customer service when communicating with owners, clients and vendors while also focusing on productivity and results.

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Write and develop communications for both internal and external audiences across multiple channels, including public relations, marketing collateral, social media, etc.
  • Write and distribute press releases and other materials on a variety of topics, from notable deals and high-level promotions/new hires to market insights, research reports and additional thought leadership.
  • Responsible for follow up and fulfilling media requests.
  • Identify and/or create newsworthy content to support PR efforts in the commercial real estate sector.
  • Review written materials and proofread internal and external content to ensure appropriate branding and messaging.
  • Maintain and update media lists and actively follow up with media.
  • Actively seek out opportunities to position our professionals as commercial real estate experts to the media.
  • Track and monitor media coverage; analyze metrics to develop targeted outreach.
  • Align PR strategy with regional business goals.
  • Build strong working relationships with local leadership to understand each market’s PR needs and goals.
  • Manage and drive the strategy for regional social media accounts, including content creation and distribution.
  • Liaise with national social media and public relations counterparts to surface local content.
  • Work closely with Creative/Marketing Teams on various initiatives.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, English, or Journalism.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of related experience in PR, internal communications, and social media.
  • Experience with commercial real estate is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365; experience with Canva or other design programs.

Personal Skills:

  • Strong writing and communications skills.
  • Able to foster relationships and communication with professionals across departments, as well as with media, clients, and PR firms.
  • Able to serve several audiences while remaining committed to generating the best results.
  • Solid organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills. Able to prioritize workload, manage projects and communicate well with internal clients.
  • Strong attention to detail. Strong proofreading capabilities and commitment to achieving the highest-quality deliverables and outcomes.
  • Superb interpersonal, collaboration and consensus-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, with an ability to effectively manage simultaneous projects from inception to completion on tight timeline.
  • Service-oriented and responsive
