The Opportunity

We are seeking a Public Relations Project Manager, Firm Recognition/Surveys to join our Firm. Within this position, you will coordinate the directory submission process for all legal directories including Chambers USA, Chambers Latin America, Chambers Global, Legal 500 and IFLR. This position will be based in our New York office and has a hybrid schedule. Please note that the Firm will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Works with firm management to strategize, prioritize and best position the firm, practices and attorneys for awards, directories and other recognition globally.
  • Interacts independently and directly with office and practice leaders and other partners to identify strategic goals and best position practices and individual attorneys for recognition.
  • Coordinates with marketing colleagues in Europe, Asia and other U.S. offices on various recognition projects, including providing guidance and identifying/implementing best practices.
  • Writes and edits award nominations and directory submissions in collaboration with practice leaders and other partners. 
  • Develops relevant firm recognition materials for use in marketing, new business pitches and RFP responses.
  • Interfaces and develops relationships with publication editors and researchers in connection with awards, directories and surveys. 
  • Works with various firm departments to gather information needed for firm and practice surveys. 
  • Researches new opportunities and analyzes awards and directory participation and related marketing efforts by peer firms. 
  • Assists in compiling peer analysis and historical recognition lists as needed.=
  • Works with colleagues to ensure relevant best practices, feedback and other guidance are communicated and documented for future use.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
  • Manages firm resources responsibly.
  • Complies with and understands firm operation, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Excellent writing and editorial skills

  • Strong collaborative and project management skills
  • Able to multitask, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Communicates effectively with external and internal audiences
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team
  • Ability to use discretion and exercise independent and sound judgment

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • Minimum of five years’ relevant prior law firm experience required, including a minimum of three years’ experience managing directory, award and survey submissions

The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range listed under Salary Details.  Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.

Salary Details

$140,000 - $160,000
