Job Opportunity: Our team is seeking a talented Proposal Specialist. This is a remote position, with preference to for candidates to be in the DC Metro area.
What You'll Get To Do as a Proposal Specialist:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mid-Level Proposal Specialist to join our business development team. This role will be responsible for federal proposal writing, managing the IDIQ proposal process, and providing light proposal management support across various government contract opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of federal acquisition processes, exceptional writing skills, and experience coordinating responses to RFPs, RFIs, and Task Order proposals.
- Proposal Writing & Development
- Lead and support the development of compliant, compelling, and well-structured responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Task Orders.
- Develop proposal content, including executive summaries, past performance, management approaches, and technical sections, ensuring alignment with solicitation requirements.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and key stakeholders to refine content and articulate win themes.
- Conduct compliance reviews and ensure proposal responses adhere to solicitation guidelines, company standards, and branding.
- IDIQ and Task Order Management
- Track, manage, and respond to Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts and associated task order requests.
- Maintain IDIQ portals and databases, ensuring all deadlines and submission requirements are met.
- Develop and maintain templates and reusable content for efficient and streamlined proposal development.
- Light Proposal Management & Coordination
- Support the proposal manager in coordinating kickoff meetings, color team reviews, and schedule adherence for major bids.
- Assist in maintaining proposal calendars, compliance matrices, and action item trackers.
- Work cross-functionally with business development, capture teams, and technical leads to ensure timely proposal development.
- Provide editing and formatting support to ensure high-quality proposal submissions.
Requirements:

- 5+ years of experience in federal proposal writing and development.
- Strong knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR), solicitation structures, and government procurement processes.
- APMP Foundation or Practitioner Certification (preferred).
- Experience with IDIQ contracts, GWACs, and Task Order proposal processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proposal management tools such as SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, or proposal automation software.
- Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear and persuasive proposal language.
- Strong ability to work in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
