The Opportunity at Komodo Health:

The Proposal Services team is responsible for managing and overseeing the entire proposal development process. This department ensures proposals are well-crafted, compliant, and competitive, ultimately aiming to secure business opportunities. 

The Proposal Manager, Government is responsible for overseeing the entire proposal lifecycle process, ensuring all aspects of the proposal are compliant and completed on time. This role involves verifying response compliance with federal government requirements, editing subject matter expert (SME)-provided proposal responses, coordinating resources, and managing project timelines. The Proposal Manager, Government will report to the Head of Proposals. They will collaborate with the Komodo Health and Government Research Alliance team.


Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have accomplished…

  • Collaborating with SMEs and stakeholders to edit proposal content
  • Ensuring Sources Sought Notice (SSN)/RFP compliance with Government standards
  • Drafting proposal outlines per compliance standards (sourcing content from content database/Responsive)
  • Editing SSN/RFP content submitted by others for grammar, punctuation, persuasiveness, flow, and conciseness; eliminating inconsistencies and redundancies
  • Creating and monitoring internal proposal timelines,  assigning action items to stakeholders
  • Reviewing documents to ensure consistent Komodo brand voice and document completeness 
  • Managing proposals simultaneously, including third-party partner proposals
  • Implementing proposal writing best practices
  • Curating information to add, update, and contribute to a library of content

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Government proposals and solicitations
  • Strong project management, time management, and communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in proposal management software and tools (RFPio/Responsive)

These are the essential job duties you will be responsible for:

  • Create proposal draft, schedule/lead kickoff calls
  • Maintain proposal schedules and organize resources to meet deadlines
  • Manage/monitor the development of RFxs/SSNs responses
  • Tag appropriate SMEs/stakeholders for draft response content
  • Review content to ensure questions are answered completely and compliantly
  • Schedule touchpoint meetings/maintain status, as necessary 
  • Communicate effectively between stakeholders to ensure a successful proposal delivery
  • Ensure the proposal complies with all Government requirements and internal standards
  • Implement proposal best practices and lessons learned

What you bring to Komodo Health (required):

Qualifications:

  • 7–10+ years in proposal management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Technical Writing, or similar field 
  • Experienced in Government proposal compliance and understands federal acquisition regulations (FAR) 
  • Edits content to be compliant with Government requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiar with proposal content management systems, preferably RFPio/Responsive (uploading proposals and answers to the database)
    • Experience using Salesforce, Google docs, Adobe Acrobat DC Pro, and other business productivity tools
    • Consultative approach to stakeholders
    • Ability to identify all proposal requirements ranging from simple to complex solutions

      Skills:

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Strong organizational and project management skills
      • Ability to translate complex information into clear, concise, and persuasive content
      • Proficiency in Google documents, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant software tools
      • Knowledge of proposal development processes and best practices
      • Experience with technology/SaaS writing/products

Additional skills and experience we’d prioritize (nice to have)…

  • APMP certification or familiarity with APMP Body of Knowledge.
  • Content Management experience
  • Content writing experience of 5+ years
  • Experience with graphic design tools and techniques
  • Experience in the healthcare industry (preferably Life Sciences or pharma industries) and/or the IT industry
  • Knowledge of the Government Printing Office (GPO) style manual

The pay range for each job posting reflects a minimum and maximum range of annual base pay that we reasonably expect to pay for this position within the US. We carefully consider multiple business-related factors when determining compensation, including job-related skills, work experience, geographic work location, relevant training and certifications, business needs and market demands.


The starting annual base pay for this role is listed below. This position is also eligible for commissions in accordance with a written agreement or plan. This role may also be eligible for equity awards. In addition, this role is eligible for benefits including, but not limited to, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance; flexible time off and holidays; 401(k) with company match; disability insurance and life insurance; and leaves of absence in accordance with applicable state and local laws and regulations and company policy. 

San Francisco Bay Area and New York City:

$141,000$191,000 USD

All Other US Locations:

$122,000$166,000 USD

Komodo Health has a hybrid work model; we recognize the power of choice and importance of flexibility for the well-being of both our company and our individual Dragons. Roles may be completely remote based anywhere in the country listed, remote but based in a specific region, or local (commuting distance) to one of our hubs in San Francisco, New York City, or Chicago with remote work options.
