Key Responsibilities:
Operational:
- Process purchase orders and manage order fulfillment.
- Resolve issues with requestors and suppliers.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding demand, volume, and delivery schedules to minimize transaction costs.
- Monitor delivery and invoice performance.
- Onboard and maintain supplier data in systems.
- Adhere to procurement processes, guidelines, and policies.
Strategic:
- Collaborate with category managers and project procurement managers to implement category strategies.
- Conduct negotiations, manage RFQs, and make awarding decisions in line with category strategies.
- Select suppliers based on strategic requirements and develop the supplier base.
- Monitor and report supplier performance.
- Focus on improving existing processes and products.
- Drive automation and digitalization initiatives.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
General:
- Ensure cost-effectiveness, availability, innovation, and quality in sourcing plans.
- Ensure compliance with procurement processes, policies, and statutory requirements.
- Achieve and report on agreed KPIs.
Your Profile / Qualifications
The primary goal of this role is to enhance and optimize the Supply Chain function by improving service levels and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products and services across all Business Units within GEA Africa.
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement.
- Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain
- Strong financial background.
- Advanced knowledge of ERP systems.
Professional Knowledge and Experience:
- Proficiency in procurement processes and international contract management.
- Experience in cost analysis and management.
- Experience with corporate procurement implementation.
- Experience in project's procurement environment
- Work experience in complex organizations.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with international ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Axapta).
