What We Offer
Major tasks and responsibility:
The project manager manages small, medium and large sized capital investment projects (up to 10 Mio €) in country wide. He / she has the responsibility to achieve the project goals for safety, quality, schedule and cost until Commissioning / qualification are completed.
● Define project goals and timeframe with business owner to meet business requirements.
● Select qualified project team members to ensure the project objectives are clear, in cooperation with line management.
● Coordination of all team members throughout all project phases until commissioning / hand-over and close-out.
● Perform all standard PM tasks for the Project including scope management, estimating and reporting, cost control, contract plan, scheduling, schedule compliance, risk identification and mitigation, deliverable quality, reports etc. Ensure that standards, tools and procedures are being used correctly and consistently within the Project.
● Develop contracting and execution strategies, ensure the engineering, planning, procurement, construction input is considered in the project concept.
● Manage the engineering, planning, procurement, construction, handover and closeout to ensure appropriate project lifecycle.
● Develop all engineering documents for all project phases (FEL1-3 and Execution Phase, taking leading function since FEL2b) for permitting, procurement, construction and precommissioning, close-out purpose, which are required as part of the project development, until the project close-out.
● Own the change management workflow to ensure project cost and time target as well as quality.
● Align requirements for project planning and execution phases with SC and major stakeholders, to assumes single point of contact for all communication to and from the project.
● Manage continuous and active risk to ensure project performance. Risk management for the project and the respective countermeasures, to secure the project cost, schedule, HSE and quality.
● Safeguard company property including intellectual property according to legal requirements and agreements in customer contracts to protect company know how.
● Align cost and schedule estimates to establish control baseline and manage the project‘s critical path, being responsible to develop "fallback" positions for critical issues within project.
What You Offer
Qualifications:
1. University degree with major in Chemical Engineering or another appropriate scientific discipline or equivalent qualifications with relevant work experience.
• Minimum 10 years of work experience, thereof minimum 5 years in the chemical industry, with at least 2 years’ experience of project management.
• Preferably experience in project owner company.
2. Project Experience: Completed project with CapEx> €5 Million as project manager role or Engineering Manager role.
• Excellent knowledge of Project Management methodologies and best practices, preferably combined with operation/technology experiences.
3. Demonstrated full knowledge of basic engineering, detailed engineering, permitting engineering, advanced experience in construction and good experience in commissioning & facility management.
• Work experience with EPC under various contracting and compensation models.
4. Good Communication and Leadership skills to lead local or international and multi-location teams.
• Collaborative team player capable of working well with people across all hierarchies and countries
• Self-learner, able to motivate others and with ability to adapt.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving (decision making) skills.
• Excellent technical skills about relevant local & global Standards.
5. Competence in engineering and project management software, MS Office, as well as scheduling software MS Project preferably Primavera. Preferably SAP knowledge.
• Excellent in English language skills, both written & oral.
• Take over a high grade of accountability & ownership in projects.
• Take overall responsibility for the project team and its performance.
