What We Offer
Major tasks:
1. Direct the process of obtaining required environment permits, licenses, and approvals, stay up-to-date with local/COV's environmental regulations and standards, coordinate with regulatory agencies to ensure organization's activities are in full compliance.
2. Responsible for regular environmental inspection of groundwater, VOC emissions, discharged water, waste storage and disposal, final treatment unit contractors, regular reporting of waste/air pollution/wastewater operations fees, prepare and submit relevant records to authority to meet regulation requirement.
3. Lead DISCOVER activities at site to consolidate, validate, prepare correct environment performance data according to Covestro reporting system and requirement, implement gap analysis and develop actions to ensure regulatory compliance and to foster Covestro's sustainability commitment.
4. Lead EA/IE (Environmental Aspect/ Impact Evaluation) workstream to implement gap analysis, defined improvement activities and objectives / targets, regular review performance and manage overall environment performance system at site.
5. Site caretaker for environment audit activities, including random and regular inspection/audit from authorities, internal audit/self-assessment from Covestro (local/regional/global), customers.
6. Lead site Toxic Chemical Management and Disaster Response plan, as site contact window in local toxic disaster mutual organization. Establish on-site response capabilities (plans, training, response measures and equipment, etc.) to meet regulations requirement and pass authorities' audit & drill test every year.
7. Lead site GHG emissions and carbon footprint verification plan, participate in evaluating and implementing various feasible waste reduction solutions.
What You Offer
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor or above in environmental engineering or related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in multi-national chemical or technology company (or production/plant management of larger production site) preferred.
Knowledge:
1. Well Knowledge in pollution prevention equipment, running process and improvement concepts.
2. Familiar with the preparation and application process for environmental protection licenses for air pollution, wastewater, toxic substances, waste cleaning plan, etc.
3. Extensive knowledge of safety and environmental practices and regulations. 4. Familiar with toxic chemical management and emergency response procedures and regulations.
Skills:
1. Broad experience is managing manufacturing operations.
2. Various certificates and licenses for environmental protection personnel (air pollution, wastewater, toxic substances, waste cleaning plan, etc.)
3. Patient and good at communication.
4. Licenses and certificates in toxic chemical management and emergency response area.
