Overall Purpose
The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination of group activity wherein the Project Manager plans, organizes, staffs, directs, and controls to achieve successful project completion with constraints on time, cost, performance, and customer needs.
The Project Manager must be experienced in client management, customer service and customer communication for multiple small to large clients and projects. The Project Manager must show experience and capability of managing multiple projects, clients and product lines.
The Project Manager must provide proof of ability to collect, analyze, evaluate and report on technical data collected in the field for both water and sewer related projects.
This role is on-site in Randolph, New Jersey.
Job Responsibilities
- Participate with responsible managers in developing overall project objectives, strategies, budgets, and schedules to ensure that all project activities are properly and realistically scheduled, budgeted, provided for, monitored, and reported.
- Assure that all equipment, documents, and services are properly delivered to the customer for acceptance and use within the contractual schedule and costs.
- Assure that payment is received in accordance with contractual terms.
- Identify any potential areas of exposure in existing or potential contracts and initiate appropriate action to alert higher management and eliminate such exposure.
- Advise Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Operations of contractual commitments and variations allowed.
- Conduct frequent, regular project evaluation and review meetings to identify current and future problems and initiate actions for their resolution.
- Prepare and submit weekly or monthly progress reports to management, and to customer if required.
- Assure the control of product, configuration, and cost.
- Ensure that Purchasing and Subcontractors fulfill their responsibilities to obtain delivery of materials, equipment, documents, and services on schedule and within estimated cost for the project.
- Define and establish schedules and budgets for all project resources and monitor progress on each task in relation to the overall project.
- Ensure that all required steps are taken to present adequately all project deliverable items to the customer for acceptance and that project activities are closed out in an efficient and economical manner.
- Assist and support with personnel development and training.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent work experience required
- PMP Certification or ability to achieve within 1 year of
- Good verbal and written communication skills are required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Ability to build relationships and work well across functions is a plus
- Demonstrates superior judgment and communicates a "can do" attitude and positive outlook, minimizing negative behaviors
- Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness with strong attention to detail
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to lead, prioritize and oversee multiple large-scale projects in a fast-paced environment with proven ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrates proficiency in project management methodology
- Demonstrates a strong customer orientation and strategic thinking with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Demonstrates competence in key areas of management and leadership expertise including: relationship management, communication, staff direction and motivation, financial planning and control, quality management, risk management, and the achievement of targets.
- Demonstrates the capacity to manage changing priorities and ambiguity while remaining focused
- Maintains direction and focus through proactive planning and organized approaches to work

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $104,000.00 - $156,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
