Job Summary:
Polaris, a global powersports leader, is seeking a Diagnostic Project Leader to support our Vehicle Electrical Systems (VES) Diagnostics Team. This position will be primarily focused on our dealer facing electronic service tool – Digital Wrench II, but will also support the associated manufacturing and engineering systems and processes used by the Diagnostic Software team. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, implementation, validation, and management of these diagnostic software system projects in support of Polaris’ On-Road organization and accountable for the project requirements, scope of work, schedule, and budget. This position will help design, implement, and test the software and infrastructure used by Polaris dealers, manufacturing plants, customers, and engineering teams for performing diagnostics, Electronic Control Unit (ECU) reflash, and vehicle/component configuration on Polaris products. To be successful in this role, individual must be self-driven with a passion to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Individual should be able to demonstrate the ability and drive to learn new technologies quickly and efficiently. The ideal candidate with have both Program Management and Diagnostic technical experience/aptitude.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Manage multiple simultaneous Electronic Service Tool integration projects of various scope and timeframe
- Work with cross-functional teams to define project scope, schedule, cost, and validation requirements. Responsible for the overall success of the project
- Coordinate project plan with 3rd party electronic service tool supplier
- Help define requirements and design for tool features and functions
- Monitor projects status, coordinate issue resolution with Program Leader or functional managers, and ensure project is completed on-time, in-scope, and on-budget
- Effectively communicate program status, key issues, and mitigation plans
- Coordinate processing of invoices for integration projects
- Follow up on identified actions and drive to closure
- Collaborate with technical leads to analyze problems and recommend possible solutions
- Lead and perform validation testing of tool to ensure adherence to defined requirements and scope
- Lead technical discussions with electrical, powertrain, and system engineers during product development to ensure all vehicle functions, diagnostics, and communications are compatible with diagnostic tools
- Work with cross functional teams to bridge the gap between Engineering, Service, Manufacturing, and IT
- Help facilitate and maintain the relationship between Polaris and the diagnostic tool external software vendor
- Serve as Diagnostics Technical Expert for assigned products
- Other duties as required
Education, Skills and Knowledge:
- B.S. Degree in Management, Engineering, or Science preferred.
- 2+ years of professional experience with previous industry experience as a full-time, contractor, co-op or intern strongly desired.
- Familiarity with Polaris Digital Wrench and/or Polaris products preferred. Experience with powersports, automotive, agriculture, or trucking electronic service tools and diagnostics.
- Experience with vehicle CAN communication networks, J1939 and UDS protocols.
- Self-directed with strong personal initiative and an ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
- Technical aptitude with an ability understand technical details and learn effectively.
- Effective decision-making, problem solving and negotiating skills
- Ability to embrace a rapidly changing environment and pivot quickly on priorities.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Quality and customer focused
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies. Program Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Asana, Microsoft Visio, or Power Bi experience
- Experience using tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, CANOpen, Vehicle Spy
- Experience in Web (HTML, JS, MVC), C# (.NET), Python, Unit Testing, SQL, JSON

The pay range for Minnesota is $74,000 to $98,000 per year. Individual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
