Avantor is on the lookout for a motivated and driven Project Lead Life Sciences to join the team in Flanders. In this challenging job, you’ll act as both a Project Manager and a Site Lead. This means, you’ll be responsible for leading your own projects on the one hand, andmanage the daily operations of associates on the other. This is a full-time, hybrid position in wich you’ll switch between sites in Geel, Genk, and Leuven, depending on business needs. You'll get a permanent contract, attractive salary, and multiple benefits including meal vouchers, 13th month, additional annual bonus, pension scheme, health insurance, company car and more.

Working hours: Monday – Friday, flexible start time between 07:30 and 09:00 and finish time as of 16:00. Home office is also possible

The team

You will closely work with your manager and two other managers at the same level. You’ll be responsible for a team of 20 – 25 associates with support of the Team Leader reporting directly into you. Together with your team, you belong to our department Lab and Production Services. This division of Avantor supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.

What we’re looking for

Education: Bachelor’s or Masters in a business-related education

Experience:

  • In project management and people management
  • In contract negotiations is a plus
  • In a similar environment is an asset

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills in both English and Dutch; French is preferred
  • Excellent skills in MS Office; PowerBi is a plus
  • Knowledge of Visio or another project management system is an asset
  • Customer centric, stress resistant, and flexible
  • Driven, highly motivated and able to maintain an overview

How you will thrive and create an impact

Project Lead / Business Development

  • Lead projects related to your specific business area (Digital Solutions, Sustainability, …)
  • Participate to and support the implementation of new partnerships
  • Execute process improvement tools and methodologies
  • Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information
  • Break projects into doable actions and set timeframes, monitor progress and handle any last-minute requests
  • Create and maintain project documentation, plans and reports and monitor time used for resources

Site Management

  • Manage business continuity by making sure all associates are performing at their best
  • Accomplish human resource objectives by recruiting, training, coaching and communicating job expectations.
  • Ensure line managers and associates are fully trained and informed on responsibilities
  • Strategically develop the Service scope and support the Team Lead on site to implement new tasks, proactively identify and implement process improvements
  • Support and drive sustainability efforts to meet the client´s short- and long-term targets
  • Participate in and contribute to meetings with relevant internal and external stakeholders to review services and new opportunities for delivery.
