Job Description:

Currently for our HVDC Digital R&D team we are looking for Product Owner.

Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for maximizing the value delivered by the agile team.

  • Responsible for R&D output until handover of result from development team to receiving unit.

  • Cooperation with Product Management (for example develop and maintain the product roadmap).

  • Planning and execution of committed objectives.

  • Backlog management (create, prioritize and manage backlog to ensure alignment with projects objectives). Continuous refinement of backlog.

  • Representation of development project scope and results for internal stakeholders, partners, and clients.

  • Technology contribution to the product portfolio and strategy, focusing on system integration challenges.

  • Work with technical leads and architects to ensure feasibility of features.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and integrate them into the product strategy.

  • Driving innovation adaptation to improve existing system solutions for substation digitalization.

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality software that meets user and business needs.

  • Collaborate with teams across Hitachi Energy to leverage synergies and align initiatives. Facilitate cross-departmental communication to drive innovation and value delivery.

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to product delivery.

  • Manage dependencies with other projects and product teams.

  • Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation for the product.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Computer science, Electrical/Electronic or similar fields of engineering is an added advantage.

  • Fluent English.

  • Quick learning person.

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in software development, preferably within R&D environments.

  • Strong decision-making capabilities with a results-oriented approach.

  • Ability to translate complex business needs into actionable requirements.

  • Experience in collecting and incorporating customer feedback into product development.

  • Skilled in prioritizing tasks.

  • Familiarity with software development processes and tools (preferably: Azure DevOps).

  • Hands-on experience in leading Agile teams and managing product backlogs.

Soft skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills required

  • Negotiation skills to balance diverse needs required

  • Good intercultural sensitivity

  • Strong leadership skills

Beneficial:

  • Certified Product Owner or similar Agile certifications is a benefit.

  • Understanding HVDC technology, power systems, or related energy industry domains is a benefit.

  • Experience with digital solutions and emerging technologies in energy systems is a strong advantage.
