Job Title: Product Owner – HR Technology (Workday Core HCM)
Location: India (Preferably Bengaluru/Hyderabad)
Reports To: Director – HR Technology

Position Overview
The HR Technology Product Owner (Workday Core HCM) will lead the development, implementation, and ongoing optimization of our core HR technology platform (Workday), including associated security protocols. This critical role ensures data integrity, governance, compliance, and seamless HR processes while supporting the employee lifecycle.
As the Product Owner, you will spearhead the implementation of Workday Core HCM and security while collaborating with HR (HRBP, Shared Services, and COEs), IT, and cross-functional teams to deliver an integrated and secure HCM system aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Workday Implementation
• Serve as the primary representative of the Core HR function, collaborating with implementation teams and internal stakeholders to design, test, and deploy foundational setups and workflows.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs, collaborating with implementation partners for configuration and testing.
• Oversee data conversion for Core HR & Security, ensuring data integrity and validity.
• Own troubleshooting, configuration, testing, and deployment post-go-live.

Product Ownership & Strategy
• Define and execute the product vision and roadmap for Workday Core HCM and security infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business strategies.
• Drive product enhancements to optimize functionality while maintaining high security and compliance standards.
• Plan and prioritize the product backlog, balancing business needs with technical feasibility.
• Lead ongoing improvements to ensure the system evolves with industry trends and organizational requirements.

System Management & Continuous Improvement
• Manage system upgrades, audits, maintenance, and enhancements to ensure seamless operations.
• Act as the point of contact for system troubleshooting and liaise with implementation teams for resolution.
• Oversee the lifecycle of Workday and other core HR systems, ensuring smooth updates and minimal disruptions.

Security & Compliance
• Safeguard HR data by implementing robust security measures and role-based access controls (RBAC).
• Ensure compliance with data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, HIPAA).
• Collaborate with IT security teams to monitor risks and proactively address vulnerabilities.

Stakeholder Management
• Partner with HR leaders, IT, and external vendors to understand business needs and deliver solutions.
• Act as the liaison between HR, IT, and implementation partners to ensure timely delivery of system enhancements.
• Lead cross-functional teams in developing requirements, timelines, and project plans.

Training & Support
• Develop and deliver training sessions, user guides, and communication plans to ensure system proficiency.
• Provide ongoing support for system users and act as the primary contact for issue resolution.
Qualifications and Skills
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Human resources, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
Experience
• 3–8 years of experience managing HRIS/HCM systems, with strong expertise in Workday Core HCM.
• Proven track record as a Product Owner or Business Analyst leading HR system implementations.
• In-depth understanding of HR processes across the employee lifecycle and their integration with other modules like Talent Acquisition, Performance, and Compensation.

Technical Skills
• Strong expertise in HCM systems, configuration, data management, integrations, and security protocols.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and role-based access controls.
Certifications (Preferred but not Mandatory)
• Workday HCM
• Workday Security
• Certifications in additional Workday modules (e.g., Compensation, Absence, Talent)

Soft Skills
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to improvement.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
