Job Overview:
We are looking for a Product Manager to join our growing product team. This role offers an excellent opportunity if you’re early in your career and love being an effective bridge between product development and customers. You’ll be working with cutting-edge data warehouse technology that spans both cloud and on-premises deployments. You have a strong technical background with interest in data and analytics, and preferably a technical degree, including some work experience in product development. You have strong business acumen, are a clear verbal and written communicator, quickly build rapport with customers and can truly be the voice of the customer within Yellowbrick.
The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, highly analytical, and able to work effectively with various stakeholders while developing core product management skills. This role offers significant growth potential for the right candidate who demonstrates strong aptitude and dedication to the product management discipline.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining a prioritized pipeline of work across multiple development tracks, ensuring alignment between customer needs, technical feasibility, and business strategy
- Participate in customer and prospect meetings to understand market needs
- Write and maintain clear product documentation, including user stories and requirements
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure requirements are well understood
- Help track product metrics and gather customer feedback
- Support the creation of product specifications for both cloud and on-premises deployments
- Assist in analyzing competitor offerings and market trends
- Help maintain the product backlog and participate in planning
- Support technical documentation and customer-facing material development
Qualifications:
- Be part of a team that values learning and growth
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in technical roles (product, development, technical support, or solutions engineering)
- Basic understanding of databases, SQL, and data warehousing/analytics concepts
- Fundamental knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and/or on-premises infrastructure
- Experience with project management tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Basic understanding of containerization and Kubernetes concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Previous experience in customer-facing technical roles
- Basic understanding of data center hardware components (compute, storage, networking)
- Understanding of enterprise software business models
- Previous internship, project or working experience in product management
- Interest in data analytics and business intelligence
- Basic understanding of performance benchmarking and metrics
- Some travel is required
- Position will be remote or hybrid (Mountain View, CA)
