Design matters—a lot. We know it. We can recognize good design when we see it.

We're looking for an awesome designer to join our early-stage team! Your responsibilities will cover all aspects of design—you’ll have a hand in everything, from interface design, interaction design and usability testing to information architecture, product flows, and prototyping (both low-fi and high-fi). You'll design for mobile (Android and iOS), web apps, and in-person experiences.

You’re comfortable working with a hybrid team and using synchronous and asynchronous communications to collaborate effectively.

So, what makes you the perfect match for HiHello?

Must-haves:

• Based in the Bay Area (this is an in-person role)
• Excellent visual and interaction design skills and craftsmanship
• Excellent eye for aesthetic design and customer appeal
• Work experience as a Product Designer, UI/UX Designer, or a similar role
• Systems-thinker with the ability to think beyond the pixels, design for real human interactions and simplify the complex
• Interested in all areas of the business and make efforts to learn and collaborate with team members across departments and functional area
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Eagerness to learn and a track record for being self-driven
• Strong sense of ownership toward your products
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong storytelling skills to communicate ideas effectively and engage audiences
• Highly proficient with product design tools, like Figma, Sketch, etc. (we use Figma)

Nice-to-haves:

• BS or MS in HCI, Product Design, UI/UX Design, Design Engineering, Industrial Design or a relevant field
• Experience designing major elements of product or experience from scratch
• Proven track record of shipping high quality products
• An understanding of design patterns and unique interaction elements of web, iOS, and Android platforms
• Experience managing multiple projects at the same time
• Experience working in a startup environment
• Knowledge of and interest in product strategy and vision
• You proactively form ideas outside your standard scope and present them to the team to elevate the entire company
