THE OPPORTUNITY 

The direct WorkBoard buyer is typically the CEO or GM of a business unit within a large enterprise, and our platform is deployed to all employees under that leader – giving the company a very large market opportunity. 

This role presents a rare opportunity to help design and build the platform that influences how companies and teams formulate their strategic objectives, operationalize them to drive results, and make a tangible impact on employee engagement and business results. You’ll help transform complex tasks into intuitive and easy-to-use designs for users that range from Fortune 500 CEOs to thousands of individual contributors. 

What you'll do:  

  • Approach problems with curiosity, humility and excitement to learn and grow. 
  • Work through all phases of the design process. 
  • Partner with the product, engineering and leadership to explore, define, and deliver market leading solutions to complex problems.   
  • Hands-on rapid prototyping and iteration. Driven by product requirements and regular engagements with stakeholders and enterprise users.   
  • Clearly communicate optimal user experiences using a variety of artifacts and deliverables ( e.x data insights, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, clickable prototypes.) 
  • Proactively seek out opportunities for design centered changes and improvements to existing functionality. 
  • Work closely with enterprise users to truly understand their pain points in order to advocate on their behalf.   
  • Learn new technologies so we can collectively bring to life exciting applied use cases of AI and ML that solve real day-to-day problems for our customers! 

COMING IN 

  • 4+ years as UI/UX designer, product designer, interaction or experience designer, information architect, or similar experience on apps used by business professionals  
  • Fluency in best practices for user experience and visual design around web-based and mobile design, and strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques 
  • Track record of shipping beautiful visual designs and intuitive experiences on web, mobile, and a portfolio featuring stellar customer and user-centered design solutions 
  • Creative problem-solver who can iterate with low-fidelity sketches of workflows and translate those into beautiful high-fidelity designs using a variety of design tools (Figma, Sketch, Zeplin, Invision, Framer, Origami, etc.) 
  • Attention to detail and ability to get to the “why” before jumping into the “what” 
  • Experience with B2B Enterprise, SaaS and agile development is a plus 
  • Academic background in graphic design, human-computer interaction, cognitive science, or related field is a plus 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit - you are a self-starter who takes initiative, while always guided by a strong one-team mindset 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment is a must! 

YOU’LL BE SUPER SKILLED AND EFFECTIVE AT 

  • Rapid prototyping and iterations that help drive discovery, fact-finding, and early feedback – fast & collaborative beats perfect and detailed in our world! 
  • Working through product problems from definition and opportunity to build the right solutions that delight our customers 
  • Owning and driving extensive e2e information architecture transformation projects 
  • Approaching internal SMEs and external customers for input and feedback; we are a small and lean team who know when to be scrappy and hands-on. 
     

WITHIN ONE MONTH YOU’LL 

  • Complete a new-hire immersion training to build a deep understanding of our buyers, their pain points, our solution offering, and learn what it means to build an elegant Enterprise Strategy & Results platform. 
  • Learn the personas we cater to and our product strategy for their success 
  • Shadow 2 client engagements to build a familiarity with our solution and customer 
  • Read all of our key user and market communications & learn our messaging and framework 
  • Become a daily user of WorkBoard yourself on the path to super user comfort 
  • Learn our brand guidelines and design patterns 
  • Contribute to the design and solutioning for at least one planned product release 
     

WITHIN THREE MONTHS YOU’LL 

  • Have a deep understanding of the problem space and how our various offerings are interconnected to provide a comprehensive business solution 
  • Partner with frontend teams to drive WorkBoard’s design system 
  • Research and drive design for your first set of features in the full development cycle with product management and engineering teams 
  • Research and learn about the competitive landscape and our differentiation, and familiarize yourself with our top customers and their use cases in-depth  
  • Ramp up your WorkBoard product knowledge by building expertise and becoming a product Guru for our primary use cases 

 WITHIN SIX MONTHS YOU’LL 

  • Create superb product experiences and work closely with product management and engineering teams to deliver them to customers 
  • Conduct user feedback sessions & evaluate requirements and prototypes with key customer 
  • Participate in a comprehensive evaluation of the platform information architecture
