The Product Designer - UI/UX for Video Applications will partner with product and engineering teams to design experiments, new features and improvements for Spectrum video applications across multiple platforms, including iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, Xbox, etc. Create UI/UX deliverables and provide guidance/support throughout the client development process.
In addition to the general duties and requirements of a Product Designer, there are responsibilities, knowledge, skills and abilities that are specific to the Product Designer - UI/UX for Video Applications:• Work within cross-functional team to understand expectations, priorities and necessary deliverables.• Bring proven knowledge of user-centered design process methods to digital applications from concept to launch.• Integrate UX best practices into solution development.• Design mockups to support product requirements.• Build prototypes for user testing and developer handoff.• Organize files and follow all established design patterns.• Partner with the wider design team to drive cross-platform consistency.
REQUIRES:• 5+ years of UI, UX and/or product design experience.• Proficiency in design, prototyping and handoff tools: Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.• Experience working with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, etc.)• Experience building and/or using symbol/component libraries.• Experience with mobile, web and 10ft. video products a big plus.

The Product Designer - UI/UX Designs products and features that directly impact the consumer experience. Designs innovative solutions by collaborating with all involved teams and supporting new and existing features across multiple applications. Participates in multiple programs/systems as a project team member. Considered a subject matter expert for a single program/system.

  • Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Design mockups to support product requirements.
  • Bring knowledge of user-centered design (UCD) process methods to digital applications from concept to launch.
  • Design information architecture and wireframes that both meet business goals and ensure a positive user experience.
  • Bring knowledge of new design techniques.
  • Work closely with the wider design team to drive cross-platform consistency.
  • Modify, enhance, and influence design specifications and assets suitable for implementation.
  • Organize files and follows all established design patterns when applicable.
  • Participate in design and wireframe reviews and brainstorming sessions to help solve problems.
  • Coordinate with the cross-functional team to understand expectations, priorities, and necessary deliverables.
  • Work closely with the greater design team to respond, clarify or define specific application look and feel.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Digital design experience - 3+ years
    • Experience with basic prototyping and interface design tools (Figma, Adobe
    • Suite, Sketch, Invision, Zeplin, Axure, etc.) - 1+ years
    • Experience with project estimation
    • Experience with planning and facilitating user research and usability tests
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Design/Art/HCI/Media/Related Field, or equivalent real world experience
  • Technical skills:
    • Intermediate understanding of platform specific nomenclature
    • Experience with creating highly-detailed annotated wireframes, user flows, and process flows within consumer applications
    • Intermediate understanding of UX best practices
  • Skills:
    • Demonstrates time management skills and the ability to be self-directed when needed
    • Demonstrates client (presentation) communication skills and the ability to present and sell ideas to various audiences (technical and non-technical)
  • Abilities:
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
    • Ability to demonstrate UI and UX design skills via portfolio
    • Ability to sketch and generate big-picture ideas for early-stage UX work
    • Ability to deliver against several initiatives simultaneously
    • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
    • Ability to fully engage and collaborate with team
  • Travel Ability: Office Environment
  • Schedule:
    • Full time
    • This position is eligible to work in a hybrid work model (combination of in-office and remote days)

The base pay for this position generally is between
$78,900.00 and $139,500.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
