We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Specialist

Who You Are

You are a detail-oriented Procurement & Environment Specialist with strong analytical, communication and coordinating skills. You are experienced in managing the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, implementing, and controlling. With a focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) pricing, you bring a deep understanding of the supply chain and consumables market to ensure cost-effectiveness while maintaining timely availability.

Your role will involve managing vendor relationships and balancing business needs with procurement strategy.

You are expected to work independently and diligently, have an assertive personality and have a self-motivational character always looking to improve on the status quo.

Spend of control related to this role is €3.5M annually. 

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain Engineering, you will focus on achieving operational efficiencies and cost reduction across departments.

  • Manage procurement and sourcing processes to ensure timely availability of consumables and services in collaboration with the Global Procurement team to remain aligned.
  • Monitor and control stock levels of consumables in the distribution center.
  • Optimize cost reduction and operational efficiencies, with a focus on TCO pricing.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with local suppliers and stay informed on market trends.
  • Conduct regular supplier reviews to ensure performance and compliance with contracts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to (periodic and variable) forecast supply needs and ensure alignment with business requirements.
  • Adapt to changes in global supply chains, market conditions, and regulations, and make proactive decisions.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements in compliance with Dutch Public Procurement Act.
  • Participate in and lead initiatives that aim to improve service quality, reduce costs, and foster innovation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the distribution center regarding all types of consumables, supplies and services.
  • Act as a liaison between finance and engineering management regarding faciliatory costs and services including the management of the distribution center utilities aspects.

You’ll Need to Have

  • MBO+ / Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Native speaker Dutch / solid proficiency in English (both verbal and written).
  • Proven experience in procurement, supplier management, and contract negotiations.
  • A customer-centric mindset focused on delivering excellent service.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Coupa, Aravo).
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems.
  • Commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.
