Job Description:

Education:

  • Bachelor s Degree required
  • Master's Degree preferred

Work Experiences:

  • At least 10 years relevant business related work experience. 

Skills:

  • Proven experience in influencing, collaborating and motivating teams
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Extensive knowledge in contract development, including key contracting principles, standard terms, laws/regulations and industry standards
  • Data warehouse and related procurement systems and applications experience
  • Ability to lead a department through planning and setting goals utilizing one’s extensive experience, judgment, and leadership abilities
  • Solid knowledge of purchasing principles, practices, methods and procedures used in procurement
  • Financial acumen to lead the development and create complex financial models, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and should cost models
  • Ability to advise on strategic goals and initiatives of the department
  • Lead with integrity and able to propel a team toward the completion of goals within both a traditional and matrix environment
  • Proficiency with procurement toolsets, including eSourcing, spend cube, project / savings trackers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic management of procurement categories: driving spend analytics, market intelligence, and business alignment to develop and execute high value category strategies across all areas of spend.
  • Process owner for category management across the  procurement organization
  • As needed, coordinate cross-functional effort to develop and implement continuous improvement activities
  • Identifies, analyzes, recommends, and implements minor and major strategies, objectives, and policies for the company.
  • Directs the development and execution of standards, controls, policies, procedures and performance metrics to effectively and efficiently manage the acquisition, management and reporting of procurement activities.
  • Manages assigned category specialty
  • Work to pro-actively reduce expenditures and to achieve or exceed targeted cost reductions for assigned commodities.
  • Develop and implement KPIs that align with the strategic goals of the business
  • Creates and communicates supplier metrics to improve service and reduce costs.
  • Work with various business units to negotiate key contracts.
  • Consult on indirect spend strategy and resolve issues and mitigate risk.
  • Prepares and conducts presentations to management, as needed (Monthly, Quarterly, Annual, and any special presentations requested).
  • Prepares and maintains the budget for the department.  Assists other departments with budget preparation as needed.
  • Responsible for all aspects of staff recruiting, hiring, development and education for the department.
