What You’ll Do: 

This Process Engineering internship offers an exciting opportunity to drive meaningful improvements in operations by assisting with the evaluation and optimization of material handling processes. You'll apply statistical methods and mathematical calculations to determine workflow, staff requirements, and production standards. Working with drafting and on a computer application, you'll design efficient layouts for equipment, materials, and workspaces. By analyzing operations, studying material flow, and recommending process improvements, you'll help the company enhance key metrics like Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People. You'll also assist in documenting standard operating procedures (SOP) and conducting time studies, gaining hands-on experience in process improvement and project management. This internship is a fantastic way to make a real impact while developing valuable skills in operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Need: 

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering
• Rising Sophomore
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office & Tools
• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma
• AutoCAD
• Design
• Ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with a diverse team
• Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills 
• Ability to effectively communicate issues and solutions to all levels of the team 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Insert any other relevant skills and remove those that are not relevant] 

Compensation: 

• $22.00-$27.00 per hour, commensurate with relevant experience and educational background 

Work Hours/Length of Program: 

• The internship will run for 12 weeks from May to August 
• Temporary Part/Full Time, targeting 40 hours per week 
• Exact start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules and the needs of the business 
• This is a paid internship 

Working Conditions and Physical Demands: 

This position is based in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and involves working in a manufacturing environment/general exposure to a manufacturing environment. The environment may involve exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, or other factors. Employees are required to abide by PPE guidelines when onsite.

• Successful completion of a drug screening and a physical exam are required for this role 
• This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking. 
• May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. 
• May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time. 
• Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. 
• May involve moving or lifting items up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in a manufacturing setting
