We are hiring Process Engineers at our Woodstock IL facility!
Job summary
In this role, you'll provide technical leadership and process expertise to enhance the safety, quality, yield, and throughput of manufacturing equipment and processes. You'll collaborate with various functions to lead projects that introduce new products, materials, equipment, and processes into operations. Your efforts will focus on improving cost competitiveness, addressing non-conformances and customer corrective actions, and solving a wide range of operational issues. This position offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities:

Investigate, evaluate, and manage various operational projects, including developing project estimates and financial proposals.

Lead corrective and preventative action teams to address customer complaints, internal quality issues, and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.

Provide technical support by learning processes on the floor, troubleshooting, and participating in process improvement teams.

Coordinate with Engineering on new component processes and equipment planning, and drive variation reductions using Process Control methodology.

Define and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operating Instructions (OIs) for new and modified processes.

Foster a CI culture through leadership, coaching, and facilitation, while promoting teamwork and recognizing CI accomplishments.

Manage process data collection and analysis, track key operational metrics, and oversee heat treat procedures and practices.
What You’ll Need:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field, or commensurate experience
-
Three plus years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment improving processes.

Knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing methodologies and problem-solving techniques including Kaizen, 5S and 6σ.

Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly, and production equipment.

Effective written and oral communication skills.
-
Capacity to work in process improvement teams as a teacher, leader, and as a member.

Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), PFMEA, process control plans, process flow diagrams, and part routings.

Basic 2D/3D CAD software skills.

Ability to accommodate up to 10% travel (domestic) and occasional off-hour work schedule.
Nice to haves:
-
Experience in process engineering in heat treat operations, CNC machining, refractory, honing, or shipping and receiving. Five plus years' proven track record of leading safety, quality, and process improvement teams within a manufacturing environment.

Certifications in Six Sigma Green Belt or above from a recognized lean source.

Demonstrated success in the application of lean/CI concepts in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with the Value stream approach a basis for Continuous Improvement.

Proven project management including Kaizen projects.

Experience with SolidWorks / Pro-E systems.

Proficiency with statistical and flow charting/process mapping software.

The annual hiring range for this position is: 80,000 USD-$100,000. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on various factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and qualifications. Compensation decisions are tailored to the unique circumstances of each position and candidate.
