About the Team

Workday's BT Cloud Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated technical lead to join our fun, innovative, and hardworking team. Working with an outstanding group of highly qualified IT professionals, you will be part of a special team that is building the cloud first approach for workmates. We are seeking a skilled and motivated hands-on lead who can help BT continue to deliver secure services at scale.

About the Role

As a Principal Technical Project Manager on the Cloud Engineering Team, you will be a key driver of crucial infrastructure projects. This will involve close collaboration with business partners and various IT engineering teams. You will be responsible for coordinating the entire project lifecycle, starting from the initial concept and planning stages, through execution and implementation, all the way to the final delivery and successful adoption by the end user. Your focus will be on maintaining clear and consistent communication with all partners and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality results that meet or exceed expectations.

Your role will include:

  • Defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders

  • Crafting and managing project plans, timelines, and budgets

  • Identifying and mitigating project risks and issues

  • Coordinating resources and tasks across multiple teams

  • Tracking progress and providing regular status updates

  • Ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices

  • Presenting effectively with stakeholders at all levels

  • Managing vendor and partner relationships as needed

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in Project/Program Management, with a demonstrated track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional technical projects.

  • 10+ years supporting infrastructure technologies/projects, including cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), data center operations, networking, and systems administration.

  • 8+ years of experience using Project Management tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Smartsheet to track progress, manage tasks, and facilitate collaboration.

Other Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage software development projects, including Agile methodologies, from initiation to deployment.

  • Understanding of product lifecycle management principles, including asset management, market analysis, and user requirements gathering.

  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus.

  • A background in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field is desirable.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues proactively.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the ability to motivate and guide project teams towards successful outcomes.

  • A self-motivated and responsible individual with a strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and a passion for technology and project management.

  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $147,600 USD - $221,400 USD


 

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $140,200 USD - $249,100 USD
