Our WWE team is seeking a Principal Engineer. As the Principal Engineer of WWE 2K’s Online efforts, you will serve as a technical leader for the franchise, working and partnering with multiple cross-disciplinary teams that are driving to expand the online capabilities of the title. You’ll lead all aspects of a team that’s designing, implementing, and launching these services and features for a variety of modes and experiences within the game, ensuring timeliness, quality and scalability.

 What You Will Do:

  • Lead the design, execution, and launch of online features for the WWE 2K franchise
  • Execute features with complex requirements - ensuring expected results, needs, and dependencies are known, planned and accounted for
  • Lead by example by being hands-on with code and implementation, effectively balancing this with driving high level vision and motivating and guiding team members
  • Work closely with the engineering team and production to manage multiple goals, priorities, and resources
  • Drive automation, testing, and the streamlining and consolidation of complex overlapping systems
  • Establish and maintain an atmosphere of high standards and accountability

 Who Will be a Great Fit

  • 12+ years of proven experience in online systems
  • 5+ years in a technical leadership role
  • Online game architecture experience demonstrating success with scalability, reliability, and live ops
  • Be a coder! We want candidates with strong coding experience and that will get their hands dirty
  • Experience in planning large roll outs with load testing, monitoring, and security
  • Love for video games (not just ours!)


The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $228,720 and $300,000 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
