Job Description:

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to join our Connector team, focusing on advancing our data intelligence platform. Alation specializes in collecting, processing, and synthesizing metadata from large enterprise data environments. We enable data analysts and scientists to discover and utilize data effectively while empowering governance teams to oversee it. In order to power the Data Intelligence layer of the platform, Alation needs to be able to seamlessly connect to a wide range of data sources and efficiently extract rich metadata for our customers. 

What you'll be doing:

• Drive the mission for our Connector squad, making it easy and fast for customers to integrate rich, valuable metadata into the catalog. 

• Manage existing integrations to 80+ different data sources that are continuously being improved and optimized

• Lead the development of future integrations, both into new systems as well as new types of data sources that will be valuable as part of a shifting data and AI landscape.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of product initiatives.

• Engage in customer discovery, validate ideas, and iterate rapidly based on feedback.

• Incorporate AI strategically where it provides value, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.

You should have:

• Graduation or Post Graduation from IIT, IIM, XLRI or other top-tier institutions.

• At least 8 years of experience in product management or a similar role.

• Proven experience in product management with a track record of delivering impactful products.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity, establish clear goals, and execute effectively.

• Strong customer discovery and problem-solving skills.

• Pragmatic approach with a focus on achieving results and finding the truth in decision-making.

• Familiarity with enterprise data environments, integrations, or metadata management is a plus.
