Job Summary:
Maximize the value of the product and define work for multiple scrum teams. Collaborate with Product Owners, System Engineering, Data and Analytics Architects & Platform Architects to own and progressively elaborate functional and non-functional Epics and Features for the Development Teams to deliver.
What You Will Do:
The Product Manager's primary task is to create and manage the Product Roadmap and Backlog and to ensure everyone knows the priorities of the Product. The Product Manager is empowered to make all decisions regarding the Technical Product Backlog. • Responsible for maximizing the value of the product and the work of the Development Team • Responsible for acting as Product Manager for larger, more complex projects with high value to the organization. • Responsible for creating, maintaining and prioritizing the Product Backlog according to business value for the life of the project. • Communicate Product Backlog priorities to the team. • Act as the key decision-maker regarding what features the product will have. • Responsible for product vision and conveying that vision to the team. • Owns definition of acceptance criteria for product features. • Work closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization. • Responsible for making decisions on release dates and content. • Represent the customer, interfacing and engaging with the customer. • Communicates releases to stakeholder and customers. • Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.
What You Will Have: • Business Analysis: Knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify business needs; ability to recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders. • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. • Software Product Business Knowledge: Knowledge of and experience with the business aspects and operation of a software product; ability to manage install base, current uses, future plan and product vision. • Software Product Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of technical aspects of software products. ability to understand a technical design, configure and integrate technical aspects of software products.
Consideration For Top Candidates: • Lead programs from product strategy and building roadmaps. • At least 8 years of experience in Product Management in the software space. • Deep knowledge of application stacks • Nice to Have
o Cat domain knowledge
o Data analytics and commercializing APIs
o Business level Product Management (Applications or data platform)
