As a Principal Network Engineer, you'll be instrumental in designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our expansive computer network infrastructure. This role is crucial for ensuring operational excellence and robust security across both our physical and cloud-based network solutions. We're seeking an individual with a deep understanding of networking technologies, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a dedication to continuous learning in the ever-evolving field of network engineering.

What you'll do:

  • Participate in the design and implementation of resilient and scalable network infrastructures, blending physical and cloud-based solutions to meet our dynamic needs.
  • Manage and administer Microsoft Azure network cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance and security.
  • Design, develop, and implement highly available, multi-region solutions within Microsoft Azure.
  • Automate routine network tasks and assess their efficiency to streamline operations.
  • Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements.
  • Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) leveraging cloud native tooling to ensure automated and consistent platform deployment.
  • Develop and implement policy driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data loss.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, adhering to best practices and security standards.
  • Proactively monitor network performance and security, identifying and mitigating risks before they impact operations.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network setups, configurations, and architectures, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Keep abreast of the latest networking trends, technologies, and best practices, assessing their relevance and potential integration into our infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with IT colleagues to enhance the overall IT infrastructure, sharing insights and offering cross-functional support.
  • Engage in strategic project planning and execution, aligning network solutions with business goals and requirements.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to address and resolve technical escalations.

What you'll bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional certifications such as NSE, CCNP or CCDP are highly valued.
  • 4+ years of experience in network administration, showcasing a solid track record.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • 4+ years of experience with IaaS and PaaS solutions.
  • Experience working within an Agile framework.
  • Experience in IaC development with Terraform, Azure CLI, Puppet, and Ansible.
  • Experience scripting with Python and PowerShell.
  • Proficiency in network security practices, including VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access control mechanisms.
  • Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a knack for identifying and addressing network issues swiftly.
  • A self-starter attitude, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps and Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of communication protocols, especially TCP/IP, and routing protocols like BGP and OSPF.
  • Proficient with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail.
