About the Role

This position would independently lead local and Global project team for at least one customer. The position could be managing several projects simultaneously. The position performs a variety of tasks including, but not limited to coordinating all resources and stakeholders; setting deadlines; assigning responsibilities; and monitoring, summarizing, and communicating the progress of the project(s).
 

What You Will Do

  • Manage 1 telematics system program, requiring both applications and core development engineering.
  • Foster positive environment to create high-achieving team: treat all members with respect, encourage constructive dissent, re-focus team members when they get off-track, give positive feedback whenever it is appropriate, maintain a positive attitude, and reallocate resources in order to meet team commitments.
  • Define tasks to be performed by cross-functional team in developing systems. Use task list to create a work breakdown structure. Use work breakdown structure to establish program schedule. Establish program budget and manage program budget.
  • Ensure prompt decision-making executed by promoting consensus decisions, intervening when consensus decision-making fails, and making unilateral decisions in the case of a deadlock. Understand all the technical detail of the products used in all systems, both electrical and mechanical.
  • Lead team meetings by establishing an agenda, monitoring discussion to ensure adherence to agenda, tracking project open items and schedule weekly, promoting a free exchange of ideas, challenging the pre-conceptions of team-members, finishing the meeting in a timely fashion, and publishing meeting minutes.
  • Work with Customer, Sales, Supplier Engineering, and Design Engineering to manage system cost in target. Lead team meeting system cost target.
  • Negotiate resource allocations from functional managers. When a resource conflict occurs, negotiate a solution with functional managers and other program managers; serve as lead program interface with sales.
  • Identify program issues as early as possible and drive resolution at the team level. If resolutions require management intervention, escalate to appropriate management personnel with proposed alternatives.
  • Lead and work with globally engineer team to make sure the projects delivered on time, on quality and under budget.
  • Lead the project move forward from early concept stage, design frozen and pass all customer requirements, lead the project industrialization until SOP smoothly at HARMAN globally plants for customer.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Major preferably in engineering like Hardware, Software, and Mechanical related.
  • Minimum 5 years Project Management experience managing projects throughout product development lifecycle.
  • Auto electronic parts tech project management experience, SW management experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in relevant product development disciplines (e.g. Engineering, Technical Management, Quality, Manufacturing, etc.)
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • JPN OEM customers experience highly preferred.
  • English communication skill is mandatory to manage global engineering team.

  • Automotive experience is preferred.
  • Team management experience is preferred.
  • Oversea working experience is preferred.
