About the Role

The primary responsibility is to drive project execution of Telematics project supported through frequent interactions with local and global engineering resources. The main focus is also to coordinate tasks between the CPM RoJ team members, global development teams, Manufacturing teams and Quality team, and drive the project according to the established process in our BMS.
Your Team

Position will report to lead PM of program and organization perspective to report head of engineering or requirement department head.


What You Will Do

  • Overall program responsibility for the realization of Telematics Programs
  • Steering of international and cross functional project teams
  • Responsibility to deliver the product according to agreed targets (schedule, budget, quality)
  • Control and optimize project costs (e.g. BOM, BOL, development, qualification, production preparation)
  • Top level planning and controlling
  • Align technical and commercial program targets with functional departments Responsible for change management
  • processes (incl. internal/external Change Control Boards)
  • Technical interface towards OEM-customer for all aspects of technical status, program progress and product alignment
  • Responsible for the transition from prototyping to production incl. ramp-up
  • Active steering during RFI/RFQ-phase to compile feasibility studies and to complete product performance
  • Reporting towards customer and internally incl. management board
  • Program execution according to HARMAN Project Life Cycle Management Processes (PLM / PMI PM Book)

What You Need

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent discipline
  • At least 5+ years of experience in Program Management, Program Execution & Engineering
  • Proven project management experience
  • Ability to manage multifunctional teams in worldwide locations
  • Strong customer focus required
  • Working knowledge of program Management development tools (Doors, MS-Project, own HARMAN Tools like ProPer, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Telematics technologies
  • Fluent Japanese/English verbal and written communication skills
  • Fundamental knowledge in terms of methodologies in project management
  • Ability to mediate between conflict parties

What Makes You Eligible

  • Willingness to work in our offices in Japan (Tokyo)
  • Willingness to travel 50-70% of the time both domestic (Kanagawa) and international (Thailand IMTC, Harman development locations)
  • This position requires the use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle. As such, any offer of employment will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN’s sole discretion, no more than 4 active points for moving violations (issued by any motor vehicle agency), and no references to operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances within the last 10 years
  • Successfully complete a background investigation/Aptitude Test as a condition of employment.
