As a Principal Developer I o n the THIS team Responsible for engineering activities that maintain and enhance the company's telecommunications and signal processing hardware, software and electrical systems. Works with technical operations staff on system design and configuration. Works with design teams and advises team leaders.
WHAT OUR PRINCIPAL DEVELOPERS ENJOY MOST

  • Design, develop and implement Pega applications to meet business requirements.
    Manage the deployment of Pega applications in various environments.
  • Provide strategic consultation to develop architecture and implement key business applications.
  • Perform unit and integration testing while providing recommendations to teams and leadership.
  • Triage defects and project deliverables on analyses to diagnose and fix the operational difficulty.
  • Coach and mentor developers by advising on writing code and technical documentation.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • IT Work experience designing/configuring systems/applications working in development (restful service development, micro services, Springboot) - 8+ years
    • IT Work experience working with Relational Databases (SQL based) (experience should be commensurate with working in several areas of IT to understand a generalist perspective of the end to end lifecycle of a system) - 6+ years
  • Education:
    • BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced knowledge of OOP (object oriented programming) & prototypal inheritance
    • Advanced working knowledge and experience with Spring framework (Spring Boot).
    • Advanced knowledge of language based programming (i.e. Java 8 currently used)
    • Advanced knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and writing shell scripts
    • Advanced knowledge of web services development both Restful and SOAP
    • Advanced knowledge of Tomcat server
    • Advanced knowledge of Unit Testing frameworks and continuous integration tools
    • Advanced knowledge of Maven
    • Advanced knowledge of Git version control system
    • Advanced knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology
    • Advanced knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model
    • Advanced knowledge of network devices and basic network appliances
    • Advanced knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio
    • Knowledge of at least two application server platforms (WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, JBOSS, etc.)
    • Knowledge of at least three development languages ((Java 8, JavaScript, C/C++, ObjectiveC, Perl, Python, ASP/.Net, Go, React, Angular, Hadoop, SQL,)
    • Knowledge of at least three development or test automation tools (ANT, Maven, Hudson/Jenkins, JUnit, JMeter, etc.)
    • Knowledge of at least three development frameworks (Struts, Spring MVC, Spring Security, JQuery, AXIS 2.0, etc.)
  • Skills:
    • Basic knowledge of infrastructure technologies and concepts
  • Abilities:
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
    • Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly
    • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Ability to demonstrate lateral thinking required to solve complex technical problems to provide outside the box solutions.
    • Ability to perform duties in a dynamic technological environment and ability to learn new technology quickly

    • Office Environment
  • Schedule:

    • This position is eligible to work in a hybrid work model (combination of in-office and remote days


Preferred Qualifications

  • Pega Certified Senior System Architect (PCSSA) certification.
  • Experience with implementing DevOps (Test and CI/CD) in Pega environment.
  • Experience in design and development of Pega based workflow applications.
  • Knowledge of Pega Constellation Themes framework.
  • Strong understanding of Pega application frameworks, best practices and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in integration technologies and database applications including REST, Kafka, microservices, SQL databases.
  • Knowledge of industry standards for security and compliance with Pega applications.
