JOB DESCRIPTION: Reynosa Product Lifecycle Engineering Site Leader
The Site Leader of the Reynosa Engineering team will be responsible for New Product Introduction (NPI), maintenance of existing mature products, and measurement and correction of the power tool components via measurement and interpretation of the data. The site leader will also lead the test department and local reliability teams.
For NPI, the Engineering lead will have supervision of a team that consists of a team of new product introduction engineers and designers. The team will be running multiple NPI projects simultaneously. The team will be responsible for the schedule and quality of the assembly process: including preparing for and conducting Engineering Builds, set up and procurement of the assembly line, and confirming correctness of components and sub-assemblies.
For mature product, the leader will have supervision of a team of engineers and technicians to ensure on-going production quality as well as initiate and execute value improvement and warranty reduction projects. The teams are responsible for ideating and executing both engineering driven (specification change) value improvement projects, as well as supporting our supply management teams in proving out and implementing changes to our supplier base for cost improvement.
Additionally, a main function for the leader of the team will be mentoring and developing the entire Reynosa engineering team. This will include training on proper process, class 3 design principals, identification and hiring of engineering talent, addressing gaps through training and experience, as well as identifying functional gaps in the organization and recommending plans to correct.
Skills and Experience
- 10+ years of leading an engineering team (power tools experience a plus)
- Proven success on multiple NPD projects from a Speed, Quality, and Cost perspective
- Key Problem solver, able to recommend technical, personnel, and political solutions to NPD projects and organizational problems
- Technically capable in product design; working understanding of cordless systems, powertrain subassemblies, typical power tool mechanisms
- Proven leader, able to cast vision, execute that vision, and lead by example
- Very familiar with power tool test, including failure modes, proper set up, and corrections
- Deep understanding of electromechanical products and designs
- Electrical and electronic knowledge understanding for team prioritization and guidance
