Your contribution:

  • Develop platform system solutions and components for low voltage energy storage and conversion system products such as lithium-ion batteries.

  • Develop a set of core elements (cells, HW modules, SW blocks, mechanical design principles, …), mutually aligned to allow realization of products in different product lines.

  • Deliver system components sufficiently mature to be used as building blocks for OEM applications in subsequent application projects.

  • Ensure system solutions, components, and engineering work to meet timing, product cost, development cost, and manufacturability targets.

Key responsibilities:

  • Matrix leads and drives the multidisciplinary product engineering team to achieve the technical/functional project targets, bill of material (BoM), project timing and industrialization targets.

  • Ensures the achievement of the required product maturity (for example, technology readiness level) over the product life cycle.

  • Interfaces with adjacent functions like application engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, quality and commercial team.

  • Organizes cross functional team meetings and drives agenda.

  • Defines, tracks, maintains and executes a platform components roadmap in alignment with stakeholders from the business and application engineering side.

  • Prepares technical decision options as input for the change control board and for management escalation.

  • Plans technical work packages (content/schedule/quality) according to the overall roadmap.

  • Responsible for sample planning and adherence to engineering build management and sample release.

  • Act as manufacturing interface for successful realization of the sample builds.

  • Responsible to release the Engineering Documentation to the manufacturing plants to be able to perform sample builds.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution required.

  • Solid years’ experience of project execution experience including product launch.

  • Professional experience in automotive system, electronics and software product development.

  • Professional experience in the development of automotive battery systems or x-in-1 electrification integration products preferred.

  • Domain knowledge in automotive electronics, software and mechanical systems.

  • Strong project management skills and experience with cross-disciplinary functional leadership (without formal authority).

  • Experience in agile development is a plus.

  • Ability to work in and with a global team and to lead a project team remotely.

  • Very good written and oral communication skills in English (German is a plus).

  • Willingness to travel up to 30%.
