Responsibilities

Design and Architectural Planning (15%)

• Architect and design multi-cloud infrastructure and services that align with performance, availability, and security requirements.

• Develop and maintain architectural patterns, standards, and best practices to drive the evolution of the platform.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of infrastructure designs with business and technical goals.

Infrastructure Provisioning and Configuration (15%)

• Automate deployment and configuration processes to ensure consistent, reliable, and scalable infrastructure.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for version-controlled and repeatable provisioning.

Containerization and Orchestration (15%)

• Optimize containerized workloads for performance, scalability, and resource efficiency.
• Manage and improve container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes to support dynamic workloads.

Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) (20%)

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate
• software build, test, and deployment processes.
• Ensure that deployment pipelines align with best practices for reliability and security.

Monitoring and Observability (5%)

• Configure and manage dashboards, alerts, and reports to monitor system health and key performance metrics.
• Proactively identify and troubleshoot issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement remediation solutions.
• Improve system observability to reduce Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR).

Security and Compliance (10%)

• Implement robust security controls to safeguard infrastructure, applications, and data from vulnerabilities and threats.
• Conduct security assessments and audits, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Incorporate security into every phase of platform development (DevSecOps).

Capacity Planning and Optimization (10%)

• Monitor resource utilization and analyze performance data to identify optimization opportunities.
• Prevent capacity constraints by implementing proactive scaling strategies.
• Utilize FinOps practices to manage cloud spending effectively and maximize cost efficiency.

Research and Innovation (5%)

• Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in cloud computing and platform engineering.
• Evaluate and prototype new tools, services, and methodologies to improve platform capabilities and efficiency.
• Lead innovation initiatives to ensure the platform remains competitive and future-ready.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing (5%)

• Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, processes, and tools to ensure effective knowledge transfer across teams.
• Actively participate in team training sessions, onboarding, and mentorship to build internal expertise and collaboration.

• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Certification is a plus.
• Strong scripting and programming skills in languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation, infrastructure as code (IaC), and scripting tasks.
• Proficient with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet for managing infrastructure configurations.
• Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools such as Jenkins or Github.
• Understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and VPN technologies.
• Proficiency in monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Strong understanding of security best practices and experience implementing security controls within cloud environments.
• Knowledge of database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL databases, including configuration, optimization, and replication strategies.

Nice to have:

• Previous experience in a similar role as a platform engineer, DevOps engineer, or cloud infrastructure engineer.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud-based platforms and services.
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or equivalent certification.
