Are you passionate about people operations and looking for a role where you can drive meaningful change? We’re looking for a People Operations Manager to join our RELEX team in Helsinki! In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping our people practices in Finland, ensuring a seamless employee experience, and fostering strong collaboration with our team leads and employee council. 

You will be part of our global People Operations team—a group of 20+ professionals across Europe and APAC—working closely with our Central People team and Nordics colleagues. Reporting to the Head of People Operations Nordics, you’ll take the lead on employment relations & employee lifecycle management.

Role Overview 

As the People Operations Manager – Finland, you are responsible for overseeing and continuously improving HR operations in Finland. You will act as a key point of contact for employment relations. Your role involves both project initiatives and hands-on support to employees, team leads of all levels, and stakeholders across the organization. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle in Finland, from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring compliance with Finnish labor laws. 
  • Act as the main point of contact for employment relations and collective bargaining agreement (CBA) matters. 
  • Provide expert guidance to employees and team leads on HR-related matters, including contracts, policies, and legal requirements. 
  • Coach and advise team leads on people-related matters, helping them navigate challenges effectively. 
  • Independently handle sensitive employee relations cases, including performance management, and conflict resolution. 
  • Serve as the primary contact for the employee council, leading discussions and negotiations on employment-related topics. 
  • Support with payroll input and administration in collaboration with the team. 
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, ensuring alignment with local legislation and company practices. 
  • Ensure HR data accuracy and compliance by managing our HR system (currently Sympa, later on Workday) and reporting. 
  • Support HR projects and initiatives that contribute to RELEX’s global people strategy. 

 

What You’ll Bring to the Table 

  • Proven experience in HR operations, employment relations, and working with collective bargaining agreements (CBA). 
  • Deep knowledge of Finnish labor laws and strong understanding of employment regulations. 
  • Strong experience in stakeholder management, including coaching and advising senior leaders. 
  • Familiarity with payroll processes and best practices. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset. 
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach—you don’t shy away from rolling up your sleeves when needed! 
  • Fluency in both English and Finnish (written and spoken).
