About this Position 

In addition to selling direct to merchants, Pipe17 partners with ecommerce SaaS vendors, 3rd Party Logistic (3PL) providers, and ecommerce solution developers to help them deliver robust high value solutions to their merchant customers.

We have been partnering with post check out providers since we started the company and we can proudly point to the impact we have had on our partner’s businesses. Working with Pipe17 our partners have been able to expand their markets, close more deals, onboard their customers faster, and reduce their development costs.  

We are now looking for someone to take ownership of the partner business development function, further scale up our pipeline of referrals, and drive strategic value.  This position reports to our VP of Partnerships and Business Development. We seek an individual that comes from the ecommerce world.  Someone that is more “hunter” than “farmer” with a proven ability to engage and work with senior leadership, promote a vision, and craft unique agreements. Responsibilities 

  • Pipeline Development 
      • Achieve objective to close and onboard 3 new partners per quarter
      • Build a list of target strategic partners and move them to beneficial outcomes
      • Conduct initial meetings, qualify partner prospects, coordinate response and close deals.
      • Produce weekly pipeline reports for management.
      • Provide outlines of partner collateral and web pages for production
  • Partner Onboarding
      • Conduct onboarding sessions to educate partner sales people and leadership on P17 benefits
      • Create incentive programs that maximize referrals (e.g. spiffs)
  • Partner Management
      • Send out periodic communiques to partners
      • Conduct regular check in meetings with partners to assess progress and report to company
      • Advocate for partners in product meetings etc.
      • Leverage partner relationships for announcements, case studies and other promotional materials
  • Product Alignment
    • Providing feedback and requirements to the product team to ensure the product meets the needs of both merchants and 3PL customers/partners and provides high value to both

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in and around the ecommerce industry in a business development role with a track record of success.
  • Set of contacts that can be leveraged for relationships
  • Mature, self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Start up experience, preferably early stage.
  • Player/coach type happy to operate as an individual contributor, learn the business and hire and develop additional staff as the business dictates
  • Proven ability to hire and develop talent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hubspot admin skills, build reports, adjust properties to fit the business as we grow
  • Experience working with 3PLs in a business development capacity.
