Technical Focus Areas
This position is focused on research and prototyping advanced Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline automation tools and services within our customer’s software development environment. The tools and services focus areas span multiple disciplines, including, but not limited to:
● Cloud, on-premise, and hybrid deployment environments
● DoD DevSecOps
● Containerization and Orchestration
● Micoservices security
● Model based engineering
● Testing as a service
The Role
You will work closely with our customers to identify and refine requirements, articulate challenges and provide solutions. You will be developing continuous integration (CI) automation for an EMSO product line integrating cybersecurity tooling enabling artifact collection, processing, and reporting in accordance with accepted Government cybersecurity guidance. Product line automation includes developing integration pipelines, producing applications comprised of tailored compositions of microservices for delivery into various operational environments. You will be developing CI pipelines performing component integration and associated verification/validation testing. You will collaborate with the EMSO product line team to define and deliver deployable product packages and their associated artifacts.
The Part Time DevSecOps Automation Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Developing CI/CD pipeline components for an Platform as a Service (PaaS) product line.
● Assessing CI/CD pipeline components in place to identify opportunities for improvement.
● Documenting CI/CD pipeline requirements and functional specifications for EMSO product line.
● Participating in technical working groups pertaining to CI/CD pipeline specifications, standards, and guidelines.
● Communicating the overall CI/CD pipeline operational and technical vision across various teams
● Regularly updating the company on progress and enhancements to EMS and advanced communications systems architectures
● Give explanation for complex problems to leadership in layman’s terms
This is a Part Time virtual position.
Qualifications
Education:
● Bachelor’s degree with a major in electrical or electronic engineering, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, or other fields related to this position from an accredited college or university, as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. (Years of experience may be used to qualify in lieu of formal education, if applicable)
Minimal Qualifications:
● 3 to 10 years of experience in design and implementation of CI/CD pipeline solutions for backend services
● Experience in software systems architectural design and modeling
● Technical leadership, including mentoring on electromagnetic spectrum design, development, frameworks, and analyzing and presenting alternatives
● Deploying and utilizing electromagnetic spectrum related tool sets and software
● Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
● Experience working in an agile development environment
● Ability to collaboratively work in hybrid team environments
● Strong, efficient, and effective written and oral communication skills
● Strong organizational and leadership skills
● Comfortable working with emerging technologies
● Ability to rapidly respond to customer directed requests
Preferred Qualifications:
● Previous experience utilizing development tools including Jira, Confluence, and GitLab.
● Previous experience utilizing Agile or Scaled Agile Framework.
● Demonstrated ability to be flexible in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilities.
● Capable of acquiring new technical and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work collaboratively under indirect supervision.
Required Clearance:
● Minimum active Secret clearance
