Paralegal - India
The Paralegal assists with conducting legal research (e.g., due diligence, case and factual research, responding to queries and investigations, and preparing summary reports) to support the organization's law and regulatory initiatives and/or matters. Working under close supervision, this job drafts legal documents (e.g., contracts, agreements, legal pleadings, and business communications) and ensures accuracy and completeness. This job also assists with maintaining files, databases and systems to collect, store, and reviews data on litigation, agreements, opinions, and other legal documents.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Keeps track of filing requirements and drafts federal and/or state regulatory filings in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepares legal documents (e.g., contracts, agreements, pleadings, business communications, etc.) and ensures accuracy and completeness.
- Processes, analyzes, and summarizes legal documents and proceedings for attorneys.
- Reviews corporate documents for compliance with regulatory and other legal guidelines.
- Monitors legislative/regulatory developments that affect the company's products and services.
- Gathers research data, such as statutes, regulations, decisions, and legal articles, and documents to support legal analysis.

Responsibilities:
• Lead and conduct Privacy Assessment(s) with respect to thid party vendors and ensure compliance with the applicable data privacy regulations/ policies and internal guidelines. This will require extensive collaboration with different stakeholders including data privacy leads and EVPO office.
• Assess the development & enhancements of internal processes & systems and recommend privacy-related controls.
• Assess subcontracting/outsourcing of any processing of personally identifiable information and recommend privacy-related controls (including the inclusion of appropriate clauses in the vendor contract).
• Conduct employee awareness on lawful handling of personally identifiable information, as part of their work.
• Identify risks and also plan and implement the risk mitigation plans
• Lead the data breach handling process for effective addresal of privacy-related gaps (if any) reported, in the current process & systems.
• Manage the process related to personal data access requests from individuals.
• Liaison with external Privacy and Data Protection Counsel for expert views and audits.
• Identify and implement internal initiatives on Data Privacy.
• Partner with the various teams on contracts for new products (including cloud-based) and recommend privacy-related features/controls, in summary, Privacy by Design.
