Regulatory Counsel

Adyen is looking for a Regulatory Counsel with experience in banking, financial services, payments or card networks and someone that understands the importance of regulatory compliance in India. The successful candidate must be able to work as a business partner with both local and global stakeholders within a wide range of teams. Also, you will advise stakeholders within the company on the regulatory framework, laws, regulations and compliances prevailing in India with a focus on payments and financial services.

What you'll do:

  • Monitor regulatory developments in India and advise its impact on Adyen. 
  • Support internal stakeholders with regulatory/ legal requirements
  • Operationalise regulatory requirements in India for Adyen
  • Manage various routine and ad hoc regulatory requests and filings
  • Advise on various agreements with merchants, service providers and external partners
  • Advise on regulatory and compliance obligations and risks relating to Adyen India
  • Analyse and summarise regulatory policies, guidelines and reports, bills and acts, licensing and authorisation requirements pertaining to payments and financial services industry in India
  • Represent the regulatory team on projects to frame and drive the regulatory strategy and align with organisational objectives
  • Developing compliant frameworks and solutions in alignment with the commercial strategy
  • Support internal and external partners in all regulatory matters

Who you are:

  • You are qualified as a lawyer in India 
  • You are proficient in English 
  • You have at least 7-10 years of post qualification experience in regulatory or compliance teams of RBI regulated entities or have extensively advised RBI regulated entities. 
  • You have a working knowledge of the payments/ banking and financial services industry.
  • You must already be or must be willing to reside in Mumbai, India.
