We are seeking a Capacity Manager to be responsible for creating and managing a detailed capacity analysis by balancing known customer demand and forecasting with available resources like labor,and materials, while optimizing delivery of services in an IT Service Company. This involves deep understanding of the delivery practice, capacity constraints, and level of effort requirements and requires coordinating with various data inputs and departments/team members to produce a reliable and highly accurate view of capacity in order to drive business decisions.
Key responsibilities of a Capacity Manager:

Develop and implement multiple views of Program Capacity
Analyze service need forecasts, backlogs, inventory levels, and resource availability to create daily, weekly, and monthly views of overall capacity in addition to local, regional and global views. -
Capacity planning:
Monitor real time demand and update models as needed to insure accuracy and optimize utilization. -
Prioritize work types:

Determine the sequence of service delivery based on customer priorities, SLA deadlines, and work complexity.

Coordinate with departments:
Collaborate with local delivery leaders, regional leaders and delivery executives to review capacity assumptions and develop “what if” scenarios to inform decisions about additional work, appropriate staff sizing and locations. -
Analyze production data:
Use historical data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize capacity planning and scheduling. -
Manage change orders:
Adapt production schedules to accommodate changes in customer orders(demand), cadence and/or available resources. -
Inventory management:
Collaborate with inventory control to ensure sufficient materials are available to meet deployment requirements. -
Reporting and analysis:
Generate reports on production performance, lead times, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform decision-making.
